NutraNESIII: Heirs of the Dragonborn

Ah! I had that function in exactly. :~I Lemme change that.

Also--Descriptions of unit traits are up. Check the lore post.

EDIT: All unit descriptions are up. Next I'll be adding in the Empire Stats.

Why does the clash phase not take defense into consideration? It seems like defense is only useful against charge and crossfire phases...

Ah! Typo there. During the second set of rolls, after the two attackers roll their atk scores against each other, Def is supposed to kick in to help the defender. Updated the combat section. Thanks for that, Immy.

Edit--Also changed it so that if an attacker only beats the defender by 0-5 then the defender does not lose Hp. This should make defensive units in the front lines more viable.

NP- was trying to determine why i would want spearmen- i like the IDEA of spearmen but not if they are just hack-fodder for swordsmen :P

I have updated the front page with player stats. Also, check the Lore & Traits section to reference what your followers' traits do. Once I get 4-5 more players I'll be ready to start, but I will gladly accept more than 5 players!

Also, if I do not have enough players by Sunday then I will just limit the game to one continent (the players get to decide) and we can play it on a somewhat smaller scale.

You do know you are missing about half of the players on the stats page?

EDIT: Correction I appear to be the only one missing that filled out the complete application.

I can only post the players who have re-confirmed their interest and designed their armies! And a few of the players from the pre-thread have opted out, iirc. I know that Immaculate is designing his army as we speak, but as for the rest I have no clue.

Okay I see that now, hence my edit, but some how I appear to be missing from the stats as well.

Oh! It's because I was only looking at the second page for interested players, not the first. I'll get right on that. My apologizes.

EDIT:

Please note I have altered the combat system slightly.

Spoiler Crossfire Changes :

The Crossfire always occurs first--even during an ambush one side peppers the opposing side with missiles before the bashy units begin combat (the other side is denied their crossfire and charge, but more on combat types later). During the Crossfire a ranged unit's strength is pitted against the opposing units defense score. The following equation is how crossfire is calculated:
Attacker: Str+Command+Misc. Traits+1 Die Roll (the lowest 1 is re-rolled)
Defender: Def+Command+Misc Traits+1 Die Roll (the lowest 1 is re-rolled)

This is done 3 times and each roll has the chance to harm the enemy.

Ranged attacks are committed against the opposite army's corresponding unit, ex:

----x----

----o----

The 'o' will attack the 'x' in this situation. Should there be no exact opposite unit in the enemy's lines then the nearest unit is targeted. During orders a player will designate what line they wish their ranged units to fire upon. Should the Crossfire be successful then the following effects occur:

Successful by 1-10; -1 Hp for targeted unit
Successful by 11-20; -2 Hp, -1 Combat Roll for targeted unit
Successful by 21-30; -3 Hp, -2 Combat Roll for targeted unit
Successful by 31+; Unit breaks if Hp<6

Explanation: Due to the changes to how Clash works (you will see that in a moment) ranged units needed a buff otherwise they would not be as effective as melee participants. The change entails Crossfire Rolls being rolled like this:

Attacker: Str+Command+Misc. Traits+1 Roll
Defender: Def+Command+Misc. Traits+1 Roll

This is then repeated two more times. Each time the archer has the chance to injure the targeted unit.

Spoiler Clash Changes :

The Clash occurs once the two Front Lines of an army meet. During the Clash successive rounds are fought between units until one unit emerges the victor. The following formula is used to calculate each round of a clash:

Attacker 1: Str+Command+Misc. Factors+3 Die Rolls (Lowest Die Re-Rolled)
Attacker 2: Str+Command+Misc. Factors+3 Die Rolls (Lowest Die Re-Rolled)

Once the victor has been determined the following formula is used to calculate how much damage the losing unit receives:

Attacker: Str+Command+Misc Factors+3 Die Rolls (Lowest Die Re-Rolled)
Defender: Def+Command+Misc Factors+3 Die Rolls (Lowest Die Re-Rolled)

Depending upon the results the following things happen:

Suffessful by 0-5; -0 Hp
Successful by 6-10; -1 Hp
Successful by 11-20; -2 Hp
Successful by 21-30; -3 Hp
Successful by 31+; -4 Hp

Explanation: I changed the 'damage' rolls from 1 die to 3 because 1 die makes the outcomes too dependent on stats. Some may prefer this, as it encourages players to use only the strongest units Str-wise, but I do not. It limits how armies can be composed and makes the game far too cheesey for my tastes. With 3 Die rolls the outcome is a bit more random. Stats influence the outcomes, but do not determine them.

So, I had been refreshing the old thread all this time  Thanks for the TW PM. Speaking of, Am I blind or is there such a PM system here?

Gendo is the new guard of leadership among the Yvethling. Once the lesser child of a mighty warlord, Gendo gathered many of his friends to support his accession and incited many of his brothers' enemies to muddle the efforts of his familial rivals. Gendo now holds the reigns to his family and perhaps more to come. The rivalry of his brothers' has passed and now is the time to make his fortunes and that of the Queens, to speak with the spirits of the west and beyond, for few men dislike Gendo, and few spirits wish him harm.

Well we'll work around that for the time being! When you send orders you can just send them to me via the taleworlds forums. Or e-mail them. Your choice.
