Right, the economy has tanked but I think we're in a pretty good situation, all our goals have been met so far! We should get a GS in Timbucktu soon for an academy.
We've got room for 2-3 more cities in our own area but I like the look of this spot
Cultural pressure from two sides on Delphi should flip the city.

We are currently at 30% research @0GPT and last in military. My goals this round is to try and improve on both of those.
Zapotec is building a courthouse and not working any cottage tiles, so a whip there wont hurt us. I whip the courthouse for 2 pop. BTW, Zapotec is gonna be a nice production town. I switched the pigs that Zapotec was working to Walata as it needs the growth to work some cottages.
In our capitol, I switch the production tiles to cottages to take advantage of the commerce bonus from Civil Service and it has room for growth.
With those changes, were now at 40% @+2GPT and it shaves a turn off Currency.
I check what trades are available from the lowest civs and I make this trade with Vicky. The pic didnt come out.
Currency, Mono, all her Gold for Lit and Alpha (she was gonna have Alpha soon anyway) and Lit isnt useful to us anymore except to trade. I switched into Org religion for the production bonus.
I then make this trade to Mao
Mao may show up as last but he is teching like crazy. He must be #1 in gold. We may have to stop trading with him soon. Im not sure of the best way to slow him down yet.
I trade Peter Lit for Sailing and all his gold to do some Deficit research. I turn the slider up to 100% so noone ask for money. I set research to Calender as those bannanas will help some of our cities get out of unhealthiness.
I press Enter
680AD...We pop a Great Prophet and since more folks are Hindu than Confused, I build this and our gold goes up 5GPT

I whipped the Jumbo in Uzbek for 3 pop. That may seem excessive, but take a look.
As long as we arent whipping enough to take away from the oasis, it doesnt matter what its whipped for. Those desert mines arent up yet. This town can easily be whipped for 3 or 4 pop. Itll grow like a weed. Only thing youll have to watch is the unhappiness. It would be nice to get a forge and library in there for the specialist, but military was my calling this round.

So lets see who hes going to war with.
Its either us, Cyrus or Vicky. He wont go to war with Cyrus for a tech and Vicky is too far away. That can only mean us.
At least i have built some military this round. I dont know how long we have. The next player may want to review my builds and change accordingly. Peter is also ahead in tech where he could bribe Toky , who hes pleased with, into the war.

Based upon that screenshot that you posted, Peter does not have iron or ivory. And unless someone up north is them to selling him, he won't have any horses either. That means we are looking at Axemen, Archers, and Catapults for an invasion force.Cabledawg said:

Furrie, I have a suggestion for that settler that Timbuk is making.
Orange dot has 3 hills and the Bannanas. Its close, so the maintenance will be even out at size 3. The bananas can be used to trade. We have enough workers now to chop. And, it fits in snugly between 4 cities....it doesnt take any tiles from anyone.
I think i agree with Conroe. Even if Peter did attack. Weve got enough production to hold him off. And it might be a good thing as we will prolly gain some land.
Also, I didnt build enough Confused missionaries. Some northern cities could sure benifit from the production boost. I built the Hindu ones for the gold. I would suggest, since we have the shrine, try and have 1 Hindu missionary being built somewhere allways. That will eventually pay off.

no you see my stepmom keeps on telling me to be english and i keep refuseing so she finds some stupid way to ground me and my dad goes along with it i feel as if im the only american in the house
Also, if we have more Hindu cities than confused ones, swap religion to Hinduism.
We should have enough to handle Peter and even take something of him.
We should have a look at what discord we can start sewing! Who will declare on who for what. Alphabet and Literature are useless techs as we have GL, if we can start a war or two with them, great!
