Of course, Kerry is right...

Does anyone actually dispute the fact that for the most part, people with the most educational opportunities are less likely to join the military? Getting a free education is one of the primary reasons people join the military in the first place. Of course there are exceptions, but most people who join the military have limited education and career opportunities, everybody knows that, so why should the guy have to apologize?

Not having enough money to pay for college does not mean that our troops "didn't stupid hard" enough. Neither does wanting to serve your country.

1) This certainly shows that they don't have a joke telling class at Yale. :p

2) A few folks mentioned joining the military for citizenship: yes it does help speed the process, especially in the last few years. I had a few Soldiers that work for me gain citizenship that were not citizens when they joined.

3) Officers must have a bachelor degree before they make Captain, so about 97.5% or so of officers have at least a bachelor degree. Everyone that joins certainly gets the opportunity to get an education and it helps one get promoted at any rank. I've met many enlisted Soldiers that have a Masters Degree.

4) Many may join the military for education or economic opportunities, but I've never met anyone who stayed for them. Later retention always has some form of patriotism and knowledge you are making a difference for the better.

Read the thread spankey, Ive said no such thing.

Ask any college professor how meaningful a highschool diploma is. In the past a highschool diploma meant that at the very least, a person could read and write at a certain minimum adult level, thats no longer the case.

So how are you judging who is smart and who isn't? What figures are you looking at?

Bozo, you're smarter than this. Why are you making such unfounded, stereotypical claims?
