The sub-heading has been changed. We can change it again if needed or if we want to refine it in any way.
That is excellent. Now the forum communicates better what it's about.
Are we allowed to brainstorm names at all here?
**
With the new forum subtitle, I think we have more freedom deciding what the name of the forum could be. The title can be more evocative and less precise as what it's concretely about is *right there* - the "snappy title, descriptive subtitle" is proper here.
Still, I've ventured through thesaurus.com for synonyms. You may pick apart as you like. I'm posting these as a bunch because I'm not hellbent of any of them. They're meant to be inspiration, tools for you to deconstruct and reassemble.
Roleplaying Imaginary Communities
Roleplaying Imaginary Societies
^^ These cover the activity done in the forum (roleplaying communities/societies can refer to organizations rather than nations, something that is done every once in a while, and roleplaying may cover the very act of gaming - this forum is about: Roleplaying Imaginary Communities), it is slightly awkward grammatically, but it covers it. I listed it because of the middle vocal.
Roleplaying Imaginary Worlds
^^ Broadens the scope to worlds. This is also slightly awkward and perhaps less accurately, but I think it's pretty evocative, don't you?
Playing Imaginary History
Collection of Imaginary Realms
Allowing an "of" word broadens the palette quite a bit. Forum of Imaginary Worlds.
I have to say, I like the Imaginary monicker, similar to how "Fantasy Football League" doesn't actually imply fantasy, but imply the imagination, but without the problem of "Fantasy History" implying that it's all about the fantasy genre.
Alternate Realms Roleplaying
^^ Less concrete when it comes to alt-history and historical starts but it *does* cover it.
EDIT: Actually thinking about it, this name does kinda suck in particular imo, that's what happens when you brainstorm I guess.
Imaginary Worlds Community
"We are a community that makes imaginary worlds"
Imaginary Worlds Games
"We are a community that plays games based in imaginary worlds"
Imaginary Worlds Forum
"We are a forum in which imaginary worlds are created and developed"
Dunno.
However, I think that RPG in some form can work for the forum, even for games that are heavily competetive with hard, stat-based rules - RPGs vary after all between qualitative, creative pen & paper and hard-number turn based envoys.
