Oh, the weather outside is...

I was at the Navy's Nuclear Power Training Unit, which is part of the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory...which is where everybody buries nuclear reactors.

Back in the day I knew a couple of guys who went through reactor operator training. But they did it right here just outside Hartford. So they got a housing allowance, and lived with their parents.

In my time there were three NPTUs, one in Connecticut, one in Idaho, and one in New York. My wife and I chose Idaho because the other two were too close to her family. Different strokes.

Its snowing again twice in one year!
20mm on cars and just started laying on the footpaths when I got home 40 mins ago.
it was not laying on the seafront apart from flowerbeds

We had Siberian wind again yesterday and snowfall again today. It's almost the spring equinox, damn it!

It's finally snowing again. Both yesterday and today. Much good, very ski, top appreciated. Will be somewhat avalanchey in the mountains though as the existing layer was so thin and compact.

It's snowing here, too. It started yesterday and will probably continue all weekend.

This is normal, and we do need it.

About 120mm of snow today in south Devon.
The snow was very wet, as normal, unlike the previous fall which was unusual in being dry snow.
So the footpaths are now covered in slush.
Walked back from the next town this afternoon and the beaches looked good covered in snow.

Just swept the snow off the steps to my house and the footpath outside before too many people walk on it.
Hopefully no more snow for a few years!

It's stopped snowing here. The maintenance staff plowed the parking lot and now there's a small snow mountain in front of my living room window.

The snow is clearing away here - looks like the "mini beast from the east" is done. Still on the cold side for a late March day, but warmer than the weekend was.

Flowerbeds are starting to sprout... Unfortunately we've still got the obligatory Easter snowstorm to look forward to.

The sacrifices have been made, I am praying the gods every few minutes to beg for a snow day tomorrow.

There's a small chance of snow tomorrow where I am back in central North Carolina for spring break. I hope it snows just because I have never seen snow this late this far south (however I once saw a rain/snow mix in early July in the Oregon Mountains).

Yep, there is still enough time for a blizzard or two here, before spring really comes. It's warm enough today for snow to melt on the roof of the rowhouse complex across the parking lot from my apartment and the icicles on my balcony are mostly gone.

But that can all change in a couple of days.

Epic mildness here, dry 8C overcast but can see 25K under the clouds.
