Could you post up filefront links to older versions of C2C? (I never had black tiles with version 18)

Actually, I've always wanted to play the very first version of C2C to compare it to the current version.

Does anyone here have it or know how to get it?

Any version since version 13 you can get from the SVN (that is when the SVN was started in the mid of 2011).

Kind of amazing that there have been over 3700 revisions in that time. That are more than 250 per month on average or around 8 per day.
If the average time effort for a revision has been 1 hour, then 3700 man hours or 2 man years of work have been invested.
If a man year of skilled work for a company is counted at 50.000€, then that means the progress of C2C since mid of last year cost around 100.000€. Of course we do it for fun and not for pay but it is still an impressive number (the guesses might be considerably off though).

Well, i was hoping for a simple download link from filefront or something like that

Unless you saved them your self old version are mostly gone. Quite frankly versions 1 thru 6 would CTD in a short period of play. It was version 10 before I could get out of the Preh Era without a CTD or MAF.

I have a set of versions from v11 thru the present. I didn't get on the SVN bandwagon till after v19 iirc. I just didn't have a good enough isp provider until then.

Personally I really liked v14-17. But after the City Limits and Fixed Border Wars it's been up and down for me. The version crime was added I especially disliked. Didn't stop me from contnuing to play though. ;)

Well... can someone post up Version 18? (thats the one i didn't have black tiles on)

It may not make any difference. My own experiences show that once it happens, going back to an older version doesn't help. Even uninstalling BTS and reinstalling it didn't help me. I'm still getting it to randomly happen about half the time, and only if a future version starts to work again does it go away. You can try, and I hope it works, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't.

(I'm wondering if since I have the game installed on my G: drive if that may be why it is screwy, but every other mod works fine and even some SVN versions of this works fine, so I'm plain stumped.)

I think some problems that may cause those black tiles might be newer graphics cards and drivers that can't properly interact with the older civ4 base quite like they should. But I can say from experience that the right graphics card can make all the difference there.

That is true, i have a dual ATI 5700 series HD card, and i get the Black Terrain once in awhile also, to me these cards, as i said in the past are just lemons, like once in a while you get a car, its a lemon, doesnt mean all of the same type are just the ONE you got. (Like mine:()

Black terrain? I never get that. :nya:

I've never had the BT problem. I attribute that to my OS, Ram and Vid card. I use Win XP Prox64 as my OS. I also use a Radeon HD vid card. Current vid card is an MSI R6450 with 2GB of ddr3 ram. And I use 8GB of ram 1066Mhz ddr2.

One other thing that my OS allows is for me to set my Video performance (custom) instead of allowing Windows to do it. I also set my paging file size and not "let windows...".

One final suggestion, To help avoid BT Don't let 20 apps run in the background on your 'puter. Turn them off when you play this Mod. They Eat Your System Resources (Ram)!

Maybe some of this will help someone.
