1280- Zimbabwe finishes university, start settler to colonize other known continent

1300- The secret of Magnetism is discovered by our alchemists. They begin work on an invention deemed the printing press, Smith's Trading Company is completed.

1310- Germany completes the "ancient" pyramids.

1320- The prining press is invented, and its invention inspires research on a new type of government called democrarcy. Critics say it will never work.

1335- Babylon completes an obseratory, which immedietly is occupied by a man named Copernicus.
1340- Democracy is discovered, and work begins on the Theory of Gravity when an apple hits a scientist's head;). The discovery of democracy causes people to revolt against the corrupt republic.
1345- The Democartic Babylonian Republic is formed

Note- there is a caravel on the coast of the other continent containing a settler and a musketman. See to it that he begins colonizing that continent.

Anywho, THE INFAMOUS POPS TAKES A LOOK OVER HIS NEW DOMAIN AND IS SICKENED. THERE SHALL BE MAJOR CHANGES! MUHAHAHA

(1) 1350 AD: Nearly the whole empire rejoices at mine, THE INFAMOUS POPS', rise to the throne. Yes it is a democracy, but each of those congress men has a spear to his back that I control! NO ONE QUESTIONS MY RULE! Russia gave me a dirty look. I have decided to build an invasion force. But sadly the previous rulers didn't have my ambition... It will take time, but they will pay for their facial expressions!

(2) 1355 AD: Managing garrisons and workers. Had a dance party to increase morale in Zimbabwe... They're starving now, but thats what you get when you party all turn.

(3) 1360 AD: Being on an island is very boring. Hold national me day and rename the capitol to POPS.

(4) 1365 AD: My, THE INFAMOUS POPS', wise guidance has led MY, THE INFAMOUS POPS' civilization into an Industrial age. We have discovered the Theory of Gravity and Nationalism. In tribute, the people have added another story on the left wing of the palace. I call it "the chicken wing!" I thought of it while eating chicken... go figure...

(5) 1370 AD: Those evil Russians have demanded that we supply them with gems. Make demands of THE INFAMOUS POPS will they?! I refused and then increased the military spending. If they only knew about what I am planning for them! MUHAHAHA

(6) 1375 AD: Do not understand why we were not trading our goods. Well now I'm showing the world my goods! Oh yeah, and I starting trading luxiories and reasources with other countries. Except Russia for obvious reasons... From the trades I have maps of the entire other continant, which will now be refered to as Popsfutureland. Our continant should be known as Popsland. These maps will be very usefull in the coming war.

(7) 1380 AD: Boring turn... Cutting down the rainforest, thats about it.

(8) 1385 AD: Military Tradition is established. Our warriors have pride in the history of Popsland's warriors.

(9) 1390 AD: Army still being trained. Very boring. THE INFAMOUS POPS is horrified by this horrible peace.

(10) 1395 AD: Traded world maps with China. I don't care what you think about China, they are damn good guys.

(11) 1400 AD: Increased science spending.

(12) 1405 AD: The people have expanded my palace again. Did I really need a whole wing for a bathroom? I don't want to say anything to the people though, then they'll think I won't apreaciate them and then it will be "Why do you never take me out anymore" and blah blah blah. Met the Greeks, seemed like a good guy, but he was looking at me kinda weird. Possible target after I take out the Russians.

(13) 1410 AD: Hassa sassa blahh...

(14) 1415 AD: Army of Cavalry nearly ready. Those Russians won't know what hit them.

(15) 1420 AD: The Imperial Army of THE INFAMOUS POPS Ruler and Savior of the Babylonian people, has been loaded on the ships and is enroute to Russia. War is apon us.

(16) 1425 AD: Recived music theory from the French for contact with the Greeks. I should do that with all the other civs! Except Russia, cause, yeah...

(17) 1430 AD: The Imperial Army of THE INFAMOUS POPS Ruler and Savior of the Babylonian people, has landed in Russia. Russian citizens look very confused. They'll be dead soon, so oh well. War declared minor skirmish outside Tblisi end in POPS victory.

(18) 1435 AD: Two divisons of Cavalry are landed. One will capture the city of Riga, the other will capture Tblisi. A galley slipped out of Riga which will be sunk by our galleon.
RESULTS- Galley sunk, no casualties. Riga captured, defended by spearmen, no match for our guns. Very little casualties, Two workers captured. Tblisi captured with little effort, again spearmen. Forces moving south towards more enemy cities. Three more workers captured on march towards Krasnoyarsk. All in all, very sucessful turn.

(19) 1440 AD: Cavalry regiment attack and forced to retreat. Enemy forces being engaged near Heidelburg. Four enemy units destroyed, moderate loses, but no friendlies destroyed. Once again the Imperail Army of THE INFAMOUS POPS Ruler and Savior of the Babylonian people has been divided. One force heading torwards Kransoyarsk and the other towards Heidelburg. Heidelburg captured. Kransoyarsk destroyed.

(20) 1445 AD: Tired... loosing ability to think... The Imperial Army of THE INFAMOUS POPS Ruler and Savior of the Babylonian people is pressing on towards Moscow. Being met by enemy troops such as the dreaded "warrior." Muhhahaha! And I'm spent...


The attack has faltered... rested troops, KILL KILL KILL RUSSIA! And thats about it.

Preturn: Bump science rate so that communism will be finished in 3 turns. Then we will go for Steam Power and Industrialization so we can build our production capabilites. Production in size 12 cities, Ur, Babylon and Ellipi changed to hospitals so they can grow. Production in all cities on the Russian continent changed to temples. Establish embassy with last civ, Greece. They are building the Oracle in Athens, 4 turns away. Do they not realize that the Oracle is already obsolete? They have no other improvements in the city. They have one iron, one horse and 6 silks. We have a huge tech lead but I decide against selling any as we are doing fine financially. Hammurabitown changed from university to marketplace which will help with happiness as well as financially. Samarra production changed from courthouse to marketplace, the city has little corruption. Munith changed from colusseum to rifleman, the city is stuck in population and all are happy yet we need some defensive units in the former Russian cities. Akkad production changed from university to cathedral to help with happiness. Eridu production changed from courthouse to harbor, the city will run out of growth soon otherwise. Kevinicus production changed from library, so much corruption that it won't do much good, to cathedral to help with happiness. Upgrade 6 musketmen to riflemen for 120 gold.

(1) 1450AD-Germans have started JS Bach's. Rush temple in Riga. Attack Moscow, kill one Russian spearman, we have no loses. Unload 4 cavalry on Russian continent move them south towards the front line.
(2) 1455AD-Riga finishes temple, starts harbor. Temples rushed in other two former Russian cities. Fresh cavalry moved to just outside Moscow, injured cavalry retreat to Heidelburg to heal up.
(3) 1460AD-Research of Communism completed, start Steam Power, 6 turns away. Zimbabwe completes cathedral, starts rifleman. Munith completes rifleman, starts another. Tblisi completes temple, starts cathedral. Heidelburg completes temple, starts barracks. Cavalry take Moscow, no loses on our side.
(4) 1465AD-Hammurabitown completes marketplace, starts granary. The Greeks begin building JS Bach's. Athens completed the obsolete Oracle, good for them. Move troops towards Minsk, there are incense there which will help with happiness.
(5) 1470AD-The English, French and Chinese are building JS Bach's. Take Minsk, no loses to us, start temple. Rush temple in Moscow, when our culture borders expand we will have the incense in our borders.
(6) 1475AD-Moscow completes temple, starts cathedral. Rush temple in Minsk.
(7) 1480AD-Germany and Russia sign a military alliance against us. We lose our supply of furs when Germany declares war on us. Minsk completes temple, starts cathedral. Rush harbor in Riga as we lost our shipping to the other continent when Germany declared war. Need to trade for some luxuries to replace the furs that we lost. Greece is way behind in techs so I trade Chemistry, Banking, Ivory, Dyes and 1 gpt for silks. I decide we need to distract the Germans and Russians. For a military alliance against both Russia and Germany I give England ivory and economics and France gems, economics and 10 gpt. England and France both declare war on Germany and Russia.
(8) 1485AD-Riga completes harbor, starts aqueduct. Our palace is expanded. Take St Petersburg and Sverdlovsk from Russia with no loses to us. Both cities start temples.
(9) 1490AD-Research of Steam Power is completed, start Industrialization. Babylon completes hospital, starts bank. We need five banks so we can build Wall Street and start earning interest. Zimbabwe completes rifleman, starts hospital. Eridu completes harbor, starts courthouse. We have a source of coal so workers start building rails.
(10) 1495AD-Rush temples in both Sverdlovsk and St Petersburg.
(11) 1500AD-Munith completes rifleman, starts another. St Petersburg and Sverdlovsk complete temples and start cathedrals. We now have incense within our borders. I drop the entertainment tax to zero.
(12) 1505AD-Ur completes hospital, starts rifleman. Ashur completes marketplace, starts harbor to help growth.
(13) 1510AD-more rail building.
(14) 1515AD-Ulundi completes marketplace,starts courthouse. Samarra completes marketplace, starts granary. Industrialization will be discovered next turn, lower science rate to maximize income on this last turn.
(15) 1520AD-Finish research of Industrialization, start Electricity. Our palace is expanded again.
(16) 1525AD-Ellipi completes hospital, starts factory. Production in Babylon, Zimbabwe, Uruk and Munith switched to factory.
(17) 1530AD-more rail building. Continuing to upgrade defensive units on our main continent.
(18) 1535AD-more rails.
(19) 1540AD-China and France sign military alliance against Russia. China declares war on Russia. Hammurabitown completes granary, starts university.
(20) 1545AD-Ur completes rifleman, starts factory.

Electricy will be completed next turn. I have stopped fighting with Russia due to our lack of troops. We are getting spread thin and I didn't want to take cities just to lose them back quickly. Zimbabwe and Babylon will complete factories next turn. Zimbabwe needs a hospital and Babylon can start building rifleman to ship over to the other continent. Many of the cities over there are defended with cavalry and the rifleman will free those up for offense.
We should also start building another wonder soon. Universal Sufferage and Newton's are both available to us both of which are good wonders. We also need to build some more banks so we can build Wall Street.
Our rail network is coming along well. I concentrated on getting our cities connected with some extra rails laid around our main production cities to help with shield production.
There are two elite cavalry in St Petersburg, hopefully we can get a great leader from one of them as soon as the next leader feels we have enough units to start fighting again. Smolensk, north of St Petersburg has some furs that would be helpful for happiness. We are still at war with both Germany and Russia which both surround our cities on that continent.
We have a significant tech lead and a huge culture lead.

(1) 1545 : Survey the land and see to my surprise no Forbidden Palace or many wonders being built. Change Eridu to FP, and Uruk to STAW. On the other continent make note of the lack of rifleman for defense - this is now a priority to free the cavalry.
Took vetern cav to pillage German Saltpeter.
Vetern Cav took Nurenburg - only protected by 1 spearman
Took Yaktusk only Odessa remains

(2) 1550 : All new continent cities are changed to rifleman - may hurry later. Begin moving free rifleman via idle ships - Zimbabwe builds factory and changes to FP - changed Eridu to Great Lighthouse.

(3) 1555: Odessa taken by Chinese - Russians destroyed

(4) 1560: Refuse England a MPP - JSBach completed in Nineveh

(5) 1565: Replaceable parts in 5 turns

(6) 1570: 2 more riflemen on the move

(7) 1575: Took Bonn with freed up Cav. Only 1 spearman easily defeated

(8) 1580: Took Bremen 1 spearman no match for vetern Cav.

(9) 1585: Paid to hurry rifleman moved worker to only rubber source just NE of Minsk

(10) 1590: Completed Forbidden Palace (rejoice now having all those factories can pay off) Paid to hurry various rifleman to free up cavs for attack on Northern German positions (Munich is only a 4 city protected by yet another Spearman)

(11) 1595: German Leipzig built Newton's,

(12) 1600: Changed Babylon to Theory of Evolution

(13) 1605: Moved on toward Munich

(14) 1610: Took Munich - lost 1 reg cav to a spearman - Took Franfurt with 1 remaining Cav. Easily

Summary: Took many weak and not well protected cities - improved production with various a few factories and the much needed FP. Some wonders are still being produced but it is up to the next ruler to decide. German is willing to trade any amount of gold for peace I refused. Becareful of China the riders are ready at Odessa. Still a lot of gold and very good tech lead but need those barracks to upgrade all the rifleman and put Leo's to good use. Good luck!

Preturn: Good call on the FP, all of our cities on our main continent are cranking the shields out. Looking over where we are it looks like a 100,000 culture win would be an interesting win. We need some more banks so we can build Wall Street and start earning some interest. I rush the temples in the former German cities. Trade Gems to France and get Free Artistry (this allows Shakespeare's Theater, 8 culture), wm and 70 gold.

Review city production: Eridu is building Great Lighthouse which is already obsolete, it only earns 2 culture points so we will let this one go. Move production around in many cities.

(1) 1620AD-Attack Cologne, lose one cavalry, the other is injured and retreats to Frankfurt to heal. Lots of worker movements.
(2) 1625AD-Magellan's is completed, we can get our troops to the other continent quicker. Start upgrading our riflemen to infantry.
(3) 1630AD-Frankfurt lost to Germans. Complete Atomic Theory, start Electronics.
(4) 1635AD-Shakespeare's completed.
(5) 1640AD-Greece and Germany sign a trade embargo against us. France and England sign MPP. Chinese complete Great Lighthouse.
(6) 1645AD-Greece and England sign MPP. Greece and England sign a MA against Germany. Trade embargo against us between Greece and Germany has ended. Greece declares war on Germany. Germany lands a knight on our main continent. We defeat that crazy knight.
(7) 1650AD-Trade for silks from Greece, give Communism and a couple luxuries. Sell Communism to England for 21 gpt and 2 gold, to France for 12 gpt and 80 gold, China is in a trade embargo against us so I won't sell it to him for the wm that he offers. I bump entertainment tax to 10%, combined with the silks from Greece this will put most of our cities into WLTKD. Start moving troops towards Leipzig.
(8) 1655AD-Finish Electronics, start Corporation. Hoover Dam started in Zimbabwe, will be done in 13 turns and then we will be a shield producing powerhouse. We take Leipzig with no loses.
(9) 1660AD-Rush temple in Leipzig.
(10) 1665AD-Start Wall Street in Babylon. Start moving troops on Konigsberg.
(11) 1670AD-Lose 2 cavalry attacking Konisberg.
(12) 1675AD-England and Germany sign peace treaty. Complete Corporation, start Refining.
(13) 1680AD-Konigsberg is putting up a good fight.

War weariness is starting to be a problem so I made some deals for additional luxuries and raised the entertainment tax. I decided to wait to wipe out the rest of Germany until we had more troops so that it could be quick. I almost made peace with Germany thinking that 20 turns would give us plenty of time to get sufficient forces in place. I will leave this decision up to the next leader.
We have a huge culture lead, a significant tech lead and will be really cranking out production on our main continent in a turn or two when the Hoover Dam is completed.

How many techs does the Great Library give you and how do you get good techs from it?
 
The great library gives you an infinite number of techs -
This stops when you get education.

The key - You don't get a thing, if you aren't in contact with at least 2 civs.

Of course, if you are on an isolated island...
You get a boatload when you finally make contact.

You'll need Winzip. Go to your save and right click and then click on winzip and then "add to zip file". Do the stuff and then go to upload file at the bottom of the page. Neilan has a major headache, swallows one too many chewable tylenol, and dies of overdose.
Notes- IN my opinion, we should take over greece... alexander looks funny. I have many tanks in production, which should go into the three transports next to Ellipi. one is already filled, so we're a third of the way there. There are also two battleships, exploring the map that should be sent to greece in order to scout. We are the strongest army in the world, and should act like it, no one else even has industrialization yet, and we almost have nukes (i think it's like 3 turns).

It's a good game, keep it up...
