Open SG: Cheiftain Babylon

That was a long 20 turns! Well, to summarize it in a few words, it was very hectic! I tried to do a lot of things at once. Here are my results.

The famous Lightboard God now takes reign of the empire. All other civs must bow down before him and pay tribute!

1786 – Cleaned up some pollution near Munith. Various worker movements. More exploration of map by battleships. Pollution strikes Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe builds a tank and begins on airport. Ur produces a police station and begins on courthouse. Neilania produces a tank and begins another. Ellipi produces a nuclear submarine and begins a granary. Uruk builds barracks and begins on SAM Missile Battery.

1788 – More worker movements. Sent transport of tanks up to Germany. We discover Space Flight and begin to research Sattelites. Various cities produce many odd things. All I really car about know is getting the Apollo Program built. Most things produced were SAM missile batteries.

1790 – Munith’s Production is switched from United Nations to Apollo Space Program. The Lightboard God feels that it is important to discover space abroad. Meanwhile, the United Nations begins to be built in Neilania (switched from a tank) Meanwhile the Lightboard god now tries to stimulate our economy. We trade electricity to all civs for a total of 48 gold per turn and a lump sum of 94! The Lightboard God now increases science production to 60% lowering the time for Satellites by one turn! More exploration by battleships and workermovements. Zimbabwe finishes its airport and we begin to build a tactical nuke. Ur builds courthouse and starts on SAM Missile Battery. Also, Kevinicus builds a granary and begins on a University. More of the same productions lik above.

1792 – More various worker movements. Lightboard God cannot stand all this micromanagement. Oh Well!!! More production of various minor stuff. (SAM batteries, etc.)

1794 – More worker movements. Transport has almost reached the other continent. APOLLO PROGRAM COMPLETED in Munith!!! SS Docking Bay begins to be produced in Munith! Shatung is blown away by the handsome Lightboard God and converts to our side. Ellipi begins to build the SS cockpit. Ur begins the SS Engine.

1796 – More Micromanagement. Transport lands off the coast of Stuttgart. All tanks are unloaded. Some pollution near cities.

1798 – More Micromanagement. Pollution is cleared from the last turn. Sattelites are discovered and our geeks begin researching superconductor. Our first tactical nuke is produced ( I think). SS Thrusters begin to be produced in Zimbabwe.

1800 – We begin to attack the Germans and take Hamburg with a tank. The French declare war on us, but we counter by forming an alliance with our good friends, the English by giving them saltpeter. We kill three cavalry near German cities, not losing one damage point and getting an elite tank. Our tactical nuke is loaded aboard a nuclear submarine.
1802 – Our second load of tanks arrives and will focus on defeating the French. We defeat an elite rifleman in Berlin with a tank, but it is still guarded by a veteran rifleman. I then attack Hannover, but lose a tank. Our military easily takes Cologne. France attacks us at Hamburg and we lose three tanks. England now declares war on France.

1804 – We sign an alliance agreement with France. We give China 290 gold to declare war on France. We also give hi Scientific method to declare war on the Germans. We capture Dijon from the French. We deeat many French units near Dijon and retake Hamburg. We kill another rifleman in Berlin, still more units left. Greece declares war on Germany

1806 – We attack Berlin for the third straight time, but a conscript rifleman keeps us from taking it! We do not take Hannover because of another ****** conscript rifleman. Uh Sorry, we have completed a second part to our spaceship we have docking bay and thrusters completed.

1808 – Movement of Workers and tanks

1810 – More movement. Hannover defends against out veteran tank. We discover superconductor and begin working on ecology. UN is completed in Neilania. SS Life Support System begins to be developed in Neilania. SS Fuel Cells begin to be developed in Ellipi. We hold elections for the UN Secretary-General. Results…

1812 – We take Grenoble from the French and PRODUCE A GREAT LEADER named Agum!

1814 – Our tank takes the French city Tours! Jeez! I just found a bunch of units that I have not even seen! I would much rather them fortified in cities but that’s OK. I put some cavalry in an army formed by the leader we got!

1816 – I begin the heroic epic in Uruk switching it from ICBM. Begin the Military Academy in Zimbabwe also switching from an ICBM.

1818 – We finally take Berlin and gain the Pyramids. We unload the tactical nuke. Should I detinate it? The Lightboard god says not yet! French land on our main continent. Military Academy is completed. Heroic Epic is completed. The English defeated the Germans after we did most of the dirty work! SS Life Support System is finished.

1820 – Boring turn Much troop movement and worker movement. Tours recaptured by the French. Ecology is discovered, but the Lightboard God is much more interested in Synthetic Fibers. They say we can use it to almost finish our spaceship! Ellipi finishes fuel cells.

1822 – More troop movement. We are almost to Paris!

1824 – MY LAST TURN! I nuke Paris! I take back Tours with our highly damaged army. I take Paris! Agreed to a peace treaty with Joan for 78 gold! I give the secret of electronics to all civs in order to promote better feelings (more polite)!

The Lightboard God is suddenly killed by an ice pick in Mexico City (It actually happened to Trotsky) Good Luck to the next player.

We are in excellent shape for a spaceship victory! We need to only get Synthetic Fibers, and Laser.
 
Preturn: Wow, we are short of military. We have one defender per city and practically no offensive units. Neilania and Uruk switched from ICBM to mass transit. Eridu switched from solar plant (we already have Hoover's, this won't do us any good) to infantry. Ashur switched from Tactical Nuke to mass transit. Akkad switched from wealth to infantry. Leipzig switched from courthouse, it won't do any good, to marketplace that at least can help with happiness. St Petersburg switched from hospital to marketplace, it needs more happiness before it can grow. Hamburg, Grenoble, Dijon, Berlin, Tours and Cologne switched from tank to temple, they have no culture and therefore are susceptible to flipping back. Novgorod switched from cavalry (no barracks) to harbor to help with growth. Shantung switched from barracks to temple as there is no culture yet. Paris switched to temple, no culture yet. Tblisi is switched from bank to airport, having an airport on the other continent will allow us to quicly airlift troops from our main continent if necessary.
To help our financial position I try to renegotiate some trade deals. Liz is only paying 1gpt for dyes, but won't offer anything to extend the deal, she loses. We get 2 more gpt for our incense from Greece and we get 4gpt for our dyes and 5gpt for our furs.
I hurry temples in Dijon, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin to help prevent flips.

Ulundi completes ICBM, starts mass transit. Kevinicus completes police station, starts infantry. Uruk completes mass transit, starts tank. Temples rushed in Paris and Tours.
(2) 1828AD - Paris starts a worker to help clean up the pollution from the bomb. Moscow completes marketplace, starts hospital. Zimbabwe completes army, starts tank. Tours completes temple, starts marketplace. Munith completes ICBM, starts mass transit. Ashur completes mass transit, starts infantry. Akkad completes infantry, starts tank. Eridu completes infantry, starts artillery. Shantung completes temple, starts marketplace.
(3) 1830AD - England and France sign a peace treaty. Babylon completes infantry and starts mass transit. Neilania completes tank and starts bomber. Uruk completes tank and starts jet fighter. Riga completes barracks and starts marketplace.
(4) 1832AD - China wants to trade wm's, I don't see any benefit to us so I politely decline. Zimbabwe completes tank, starts mass transit. SS Engine completed in Ur, start mass transit. Kevinicus completes infantry, starts another. Akkad completes tank, starts another.
(5) 1834AD - Neilania completes bomber, starts another. Unlundi completes mass transit, starts tank. Ashur completes infantry, starts another. Ellipi completes mass transit, starts courthouse. Uruk completes jet fighter starts another. Eridu completes artillery, starts another. Lagash completes barracks, starts marketplace. I decline to hold UN elections as I am doubtful we would have a chance and very well may lose due to the bombing.
(6) 1836AD - Munith completes mass transit, starts infantry. Akkad completes tank, starts another. Tblisi completes airport, starts police station. Now we can airlift troops to the other continent, much quicker and easier than transports.
(7) 1838AD - Greece wants an embargo against France, I don't see any advantage to this so I politely decline. Bablyon completes mass transit, starts battleship. Zimbabwe completes mass transit, starts infantry. Neilania completes bomber, starts another. Ulundi completes tank, starts another. Kevinicus completes infantry, starts another. Uruk completes jet fighter, starts another.
(8) 1840AD - Complete research of Synthetic Fibers, start Computers. Zimbabwe completes infantry, starts another. Ashur completes infantry starts modern armor. Ellipi completes courthouse, starts modern armor. Eridu completes artillery, starts modern armor. Nuremberg completes infantry, starts marketplace. Samarra completes mass transit, starts modern armor. Switch production of Neilania to SS Exterior Casing. Switch Uruk to SS Stasis Chamber. Switch Munith to SS Storage/Supply. I decide we need more help financially to support our research rate. England pays us 4gpt more to extend our ivory deal. With our significant tech lead I decide it is worth it to sell off one of our techs. Our most benign tech is The Corporation. Greece pays us silks, wm, 33gpt and 180 gold. China pays us 4gpt and 90 gold. England pays us 130 gold. France gives us 20 gold. Due to the extra luxury I drop our entertainment tax to zero. This allows me to bump up our science rate by 20% and cuts 2 turns off our research time.
(9) 1842AD - Zimbabwe completes infantry, starts another. Ur completes mass transit, starts modern armor. Akkad completes modern armor, starts another. Hammurabitown completes courthouse, starts factory. Heidelburg completes factory, starts aqueduct. Upgrade all vet tanks to modern armor.
(10) 1844AD - Zimbabwe completes infantry, starts another. Ulundi completes modern armor, starts another. Kevinicus completes infantry, starts another. Yakutsk completes barracks, starts aqueduct.

We are on our way to a space race victory. I have been running the science rate as high as possible without losing too much gpt.
We still need to beef up our military. Many of our cities on our borders with other civs still only have one infantry defending them. Troops from our main continent can be airlifted into Tblisi on the other continent.

Attacked England.
Science at 80, we have the whatsit, researching Fission. Prebuild last spaceship part with an ICBM. We are losing 60 gold per turn, this is affordable with over 1200 gold. Please attach a save at turn-before-win so everyone can dl and get their part of the win.
 
Silly me.. We are not researching Fission, but Nuke Power. GO for laser next.
 
Above someone said "Switch from Solar plant to Infantry, we already have Hoover". Big mistake. Hoover is like an "EXTRA" power plant. Have you seen a city with hydro plant, nuke plant and factory? way over 100 shields if good land. Build power plants in all cities, they ARE useful even with hoover.

But a nuke plant is more productive than a solar or hydro plant, that is why it had over 100 shields. A solar plant is just as effective as a hydro plant. You can have both a hydro plant and a solar plant in a city, but the city will not produce any more shields than if you just had one of them (it will only use one or the other, not both). A manufacturing plant, though is in addition to any power plants already being used (nuke, hydro, solar).
 
Preturn: We already have Hoover's so all cities are changed from solar plant production, mostly to research labs, even though some are at a lose of shields.
See if I can't get some more trade going to help with financing our research. The only thing I can do is 6 gpt from Greeks for some Ivory. I drop the science rate 10%, we go from 91 gpt loss to 30 income, this will turn around next turn when many research labs complete.

(1) 1856AD - The English overrun a horse colony. The English also take an undefended city Avignon. I never thought to look for undefended cities before ending the turn. I look around and find more undefended cities, move troops around so there are no more. Extra troops are airlifted over from the main continent. We have really let our military forces dwindle. All cities completing research labs are put on military production. Oxford is taken, temple started. Vladivostok is taken, temple started. Canterbury is taken, temple started. Avignon retaken, temple started. Sevastopol taken, temple started. What happened to our transports? The last English city is on an island and we have no way to get troops there. Liz refuses to talk to us. So I convert production at Minsk to a transport.
(2) 1858AD - Now Liz wants to talk, too late lady, you had your chance. A couple temples are rushed.

(4) 1862AD - Land some modern armor on Liz's last island. Rush another temple.
(5) 1864AD - Reg spearman don't do so well against elite modern armor, Liverpool is ours, a temple is started. Liz is no more. This helps our war weariness and many entertainers are put back to work.
(6) 1866AD - WLTKD celebrated throughout our lands. Couple more temples rushed.
(7) 1868AD - Nuclear Power discovered, The Laser is 7 turns away.
(8) 1870AD - China and Greece sign MPP.

(11) 1876AD - Zimbabwe starts building ICBM as a placeholder for our last spaceship component. Bump up science rate to cut a turn from our research time, we are losing money but at this point who cares?

(13) 1880AD - Research of Laser is completed, while choosing the next research target, who cares what it was, I change production of Zimbabwe to SS Planetary Party Lounge. Zimbabwe completes the Party Lounge. We achieve a Space Race Victory.

Open up the 1854AD save. Note Ulundi's production, 65 shields. End turn. Ulundi completes Solar Plant and it is still producing 65 shields.
