Open Spots in NES.

I have half as many players as you, you know. :mischief:

They won't go. They're too attached to the greatness of LINES II. (And so am I, for that matter. :D )

But seriously, to give some substance to this post, I invite you all to join my NES, yet again. It has das, you know. And a defeated, hemmed in, and yet full of potential Persia.

(Not to mention Zhou China, Bengal, Cambodia, and Minoa, all good NPC picks, as well.)

Id like to advertise/rant about my alternate-world (IE non-earth-map, but otherwise realistic) NES. I can be a bit sloppy when it comes to specifics and details, but I do try to put effort into creating a believable world. Updates have got kinda big. Im looking for players to join more for the easy-going ‘role playing’ side of things, making things interesting and creating background for this world, rather than an all out competition to conquer it all. I don’t expect new players to care that much about the history of the game, but I will provide any kind of background info on request.

Heres a link to one of Das’ posts, which also includes background to a lot of other stuff in this game.

Im running a rather simple rules+stats system (Its got about 5% of the rules from the first DNES :) ), but still allowing for detail. People like Das tend to send excellent detailed orders as you might expect, while people like Lord_Iggy send a couple of lines each time. I happily accept both. There are basic ‘spending points’ to spend (bonuses are awarded for stories or background), but essentially you just say what you want the nation to focus on. I know this won’t appeal to everyone.

Its about to have a BT update/time jump, which IMO might actually be a good time for someone to join – a few centuries is plenty of time for a new dynasty or even a whole new culture to appear, so you could morph one of the NPC’s and have it emerge in the IT as a new custom nation (within reason). And, of course, everybody will be in the same boat at the start of the new IT when it comes to diplomacy and alliances etc…

Ive had a few false starts… Contempt, Sheep, Thomander, and _Bryce_ have all posted to claim a nation, and then disappeared straight away without ever sending orders. I guess this NES might be hard to get into, as it’s a bit unusual, and its history goes back into another NES thread (Civ3 NES 1). In fact, Krimzon_Striker is the only player to join in the current thread, while I’ve lost Insane_Panda from the old one. Im hoping a couple of others will join eventually, and I’ll try to be more welcoming in future.

Anyway, current viable NPC nations are these: (all could be changed/morphed/renamed to something else by a new player)
Shimazu – Japan/Khmer style culture. Island nation at war with ‘Khimian’ sea barbarians.

Rayam – Indian/Khmer style culture. Growing network of trade colonies, but threatened by powerful neighbours on land (Krimzon’s Ulakam Empire, and jalapeno_dude with Ormash).

Anguile – Insane_Panda’s former nation. French/Gallic/Roman style culture. A very powerful nation, if it can be reunified – currently split between Imperial and Republican factions.

Colexia – Celtic/Germanic/Balkan style culture. A mixed up, somewhat unstable nation, but with great potential if strong leadership can continue.

Muskovya – Slavic/Germanic/Steppe culture. Its power has been rising quite fast as a friend of Warman17’s Videssos.

Samark – Steppe people, who have expanded their territory to quite a size. Have been allied with the powerful Ulakam Empire in the past, against Das’ Agrinese Empire (the other uber empire in the game).

…

Well, probably this will all go ignored, but I thought it was worth a shot :)

If I get more online time in future, im definitely going to join other NES’s. Im not in any right now, and I understand that’s poor etiquette around here while asking for players to join mine. But im still really determined and enthused to be a mod of my own NES, so its really all I’ve got time for at the moment :(

FarowNES02

My NES has taken an interesting turn and I encourage LINES players to join as it is very similar. Many NPCs available to play! You may also create your own nation. Lots of open space to do so.

My world is growing and I need new players to grow with it. As of now I have not last a player nation but that may change soon.

I second Farow. It is a great NES.
^Thirded.

When my update comes, there will be a lot of interesting NPCs for people to play...

CarNES01: Space Colonization is already up.
Currently, most superpowers are up. We still have a terrorist group, the USA, Canada, France, and most other nations unfilled. I expect about 60 nations minimal, and that's not including the aliens or space colonies soon to be founded. ;)

JalNES has, amazingly enough, been updated. Since it's not like I'm actually keeping to any particular timeframe for updating, I might as well add a few more players.

Britannia, one of the strongest nations in the game, is now open. It's a great chance to get into the game.

If you want something strong and neutral, try Noricum. If you want a brand new start, try Normandy, the Trade Union, Novgorod, Pest, Malta, or Hainan.

If you're feeling xenophobic, Tartessos is the one for you, or Syracuse if you want a challenge.

Then there are no fewer than 4 small Indian NPCs, and one really large one. Plus 4 Japanese nations. And Chinese nations will soon be available to play.

Or you could even start a brand new nation.

There are lots of choices, so join!

CarmenNES01 has an astoundingly 2 players. ;)

Currently, 2 alien nations are open. They will reach Earth, but will they conquor it?
Looking for an easy ride? The USA, France, UK, and many other superpowers are still up for grabs.
Something a little more of a challange? Try Chile, Brazil, Cuba, or even Turkey.
Want the hardest of all? Peru, Free China, the Eye of God, Al-Qaeda, or even the Hispanic Union.

The choice is yours, the stake of the world is at hand. All these nations have lost, but will they rise from the ashes?

I've been running a diplomacy game in this forum, which has been fairly successful. However, two of the players have disappeared, and we need orders from everyone involved to continue.

If anyone is interested in playing Turkey or Italy, please send orders.

Abandoned Stars is up! It hasn't even had the preliminary (Update 0) yet, so you have lots of time to join and get your faction straightened out.

Once again, I must plead for a player to send orders for Turkey in my diplomacy game...

Rather improbably, JalNES has again been updated.

Sumer, probably the strongest power in the game, is open. So is Maghada, the strongest Asian power. There are some Brittanian successor states, a Medean rebellion, Indian nations, and Noricum, a powerful East Asian state, open as well.

Opening 'Neo Nes : Legends III' tommorow for those that care and still remember. (that means you alex!)
