OptNES: Blueprint Humanity [Map Creation Thread]

No. I chose what I wanted. ;) For how can a pantheon of gods and goddesses exist without some evil?

Terrance888 (Takarzi, God of Domination)
electric926 (Verteig, God of the Dead)

Though, of course, I suppose Verteig could arguably not be evil.

(Though, in a way, the Greek pantheon exists without evil: The evil comes from outside, though the gods are in no way admirable.)

Sirin: God of Pain, war, disease, murder and famine. Twin of Siri

With your permission, I'll just put Sirin down as Pain and War, since the other things sort of fall under that heading anyway (and it's a long list ;))

Is that alright?

Lorr - god of love, lust and sex. God of the great lake lorr.

Ignacius, God of Storms and Ruler of the Dominion of the Sky, rules from Mount Ignacius (The mountain I made) which is the largest mountain on this plane of existence

Though, of course, I suppose Verteig could arguably not be evil.

Yeah, Verteig isn't necessarily evil. He's more or less a Captain Ersatz of his Greek counterpart, who was also not necessarily evil. Although I'd imagine he'd be friendly with the god of war. :mischief:

All orders at this point are on the map. Current plan is to wait until Tuesday to update, in the hope of getting maybe one or two more orders (and resubmits from those I've requested them from).

Monday? :please:

Well, yes, since Tuesday here is Monday for most people ;)

But doing it a day earlier really doesn't work, since I have training for sports and a music lesson and don't get home until quite late. I will do it if I have time, but it's touch-and-go at this point.

Refer to the second bit of my previous post. :)

Orders locked.

I'm interpreting nuke's order as solid land and METY's as he posted it (it doesn't really do anything since that's land anyway) since they didn't answer my VMs.

Update will be up as soon as it's written.

Creation: Update 1
An Introduction to the Deity Family

Humanity haven’t populated this little corner of the universe yet. Other worlds thrive out there somewhere in the cosmos, but this one lies empty. Just a frozen ball of ice. Basically nothing, a clean slate.

It took deities to come in and shape this world, the fire god Hu’gura melting the ice, turning it into water. For water to exist, a water god had to come into being. Atyen, the god of the sea, was born. Joined by the sky god Ignacius, these three shaped the first stirrings of the natural world.

It was when life began to inhabit the world that other gods became. The god of death, Verteig, was a constant in the vast seas that swept the globe. Preying animals, sharks and the like, necessitated gods of war and domination – the brothers Takarzi and Sirin. Sirin’s twin sister, Siri, became the soft voice of mercy, to be quiet until humans came, a creature that did not simply act on instinct, but also understood. She had her part to play in life’s earliest years, but it was a side role.

It was these seven who formed the original circle of gods above the earth, on it and beneath it. Three camps developed, the earthly gods, those of the heavens and those of the deeps. It would be Ignacius who led the heavenly pantheon. Siri would join him in the clouds.

Gods of the deep places then looked for their own realm, and they found it in the recesses of the ocean. Atyen became their chief, with Verteig as his advisor. To Verteig he gave the realms beneath the sea, within the rocks and soil upon which we now stand. Together, these two became the silent force beneath – beneath everything.

It wasn’t until a long time later that Takarzi, Sirin and the god of fire, Hu’gura, began to envy these gods, who had homes and could relax. It was these three who began the process of building the lands which we now stand on. And they chose their special place, our homeland itself.

Land began to rise from the oceans, developed its own life. What Takarzi, Sirin and Hu’gura began, the other gods followed, and before long, there was sufficient land for Sirin, the god of war, to build his own race. Sirin was unsatisfied with his sharks, which only kill to eat. It was Sirin who designed the race who killed for glory, or even for enjoyment:

Humans.

And with these humans came a multitude of nuances, characters, traits and personalities, interests, loves – things that even their creator Sirin could not have predicted. And new gods joined the Three Houses.

Chakra, the god of the vine, who takes over the control of our bodies when we drink vast quantities of wine, and cannot do so for ourselves, and Lorr, the god of the things which stem from Chakra’s doings, love and lust both, joined the earthly House, and Hu’gura led Takarzi, Sirin and the two gods of pleasure and enjoyment.
Malar, the son of Ignacius, was sent to give the humans knowledge, to prevent chaos and grow a civilization. And his brother, Aramsaran, joined him, as the human race developed and grew a sense of right and wrong, lawfulness, lawlessness... justice. And their loyalties remained to the heavens, home of ideas and ideals.

All the gods would eventually join in shaping this new world, and the result, as always, would be complete and utter chaos.

The gods, after all, are only human.
