Beans, the basis of many Mexican dishes, is so much better than sticky nasty tasteless Rice, the basis of many oriental dishes.

Beans are pretty tasteless also with out the sauce its in.

[Americanized] Japanese food is one of my favorites.

Real mexican resaurants are good once in a while, but I can't stand something like taco bell.

I happen to like rice; one of the better grains out there. :p

Mexican Food cause of steak and cheese quesadillas, and the free tortilla chips that come with kick rump salsa.

Although the rice is by far better than the beans, the actual specialty dishes of Mexican food far outweigh those of their Oriental counterparts.

Definately Mexican food

I prefer real Oriental food, not the junk they serve in the US, though I will take US oriental over US mexican.

Should Japanese food be in a separate category from "Oriental"? Japanese usually strikes me as being more seafood oriented rather than the Chinese style of rice and vegetable centered dishes.

I like cheese and Mexican food has cheese so no contest between the two for me. Though I do like to indulge in fried rice with chicken every once in a while.

fried rice v. mexican rice
soy sauce v. guacamole
chicken v. steak

when you lok at it that way, it's mexican no contest. Plus you get to make it easy at home, which is a plus.

now, if by oriental, you mean Panda Express, then it becomes a very dificult decision, because now you have both orange chicken and fortune cookies.

I'm not just referring to Taco Bell - I'm talkin' like real Mexican restaurants too.
Unfortunately, never tasted real mexican food except for fast food, but i'll still choose oriental food anyway. You can't know unless you travel to China to see the varieties of food, different in each region to suit every palette. As a lover of good food, there is little that I can think of that can equal that.

Chinese, but only because I have Mexican every other day :p

I like Mxican food, tacos, burritos, nachos, enchiladas, whats not to like?

Unfourtnatley there's only 1 Mexican resturant in the entire city and it's quite a distance away.

Mexican. I'm a Southern Californian through and through. :D

Though I do love Asian food (just not as much).
