Yeah, Cotm43 proved too huge for me.
I was lost fighting in America, still tech leader despite min sci research in the early middle Ages. Battles and logistics are too much effort for me.

You got to play slumpy to hit the requested time - I hate playing slumpy.
(I sometimes do by mistake though :mischief: )

Niklas and zyxy, remember in SGotm13 to submit a 1000BC file to compare in the QSC!! :old:
Ivan already failed... :mischief:

I was doing really well in CotM43, so it's a bummer I had to call it off. By 900 AD I had taken out America, Spain, Aztecs, Maya, Inca and almost all of Japan. I had forces ready to hit India, and I was expanding over the "free" barb islands. I reckon I could have gotten domination well before 1500 AD, hopefully before 1250 AD even. I'll have to play it out some time to see how it all goes...

Paul, thanks for the headsup on the QSC file!

Not sure if you all noticed int eh COTM spoiler but I lost to the AI. :( I thought I was going to be able to squeeze out a time / score victory over Korea but the Menehune won with a 20k city. I didn't see it coming. :wallbash:

Yeah, I read that, a real bummer that. I really hope you get the green ambulance at least, your spoilers were really nice reads. :)

I gave up on COTM43 in the industrial ages, I decided I didn't have the time to go a military route so settled on wiping out the nearby minor civ and settling the large barb infested island to the south, plan was to plod along to a UN attempt. In the end I was finding the game incredibly dull with the long research times and not much to do other than move workers and arrange specialists, I officially gave up when COTM44 came out (which I have already finished).

I got tied up in COTM 43 when republic came by and couldn't figure out whether to trade and switch. and then life took over. I tried to get it going for a diplo or space win, but could not.

I had a lot of fun with it anyway.

Happy Birthday Niklas! I just had #47 (or #48 if you count the original one) Saturday. :bday:

Thanks, and :bday: to you too then! Only #29 for me, I'm still a young one in this company (though you'd be surprised how many times I've been called an old guy on these forums )

Yep happy Birthday both of you!

Back when I was 29 I used to have quite a party on my birthdays... :mischief:

Happy Birthday gentlemen!

Here’s to many more wonderful years of Civing for both of you!

Question related to the current gotm...can anyone point me towards an article where I can read up on RCP?

I have been trying to avoid such things until now :)

Here you go: -

Two things you should note, firstly RCP is only applicable to vanilla or ptw versions of the game, the corruption model was changed in conquests making RCP obsolete.

Secondly, it is helpful to use civassist 2 in planning your cities, the map in CA2 can display the distance rings making RCP plannning fairly straight forward.

However CA2 does not offer colored dots on the map  which is essential to any thorough planning and discussion!!
Who never set (or discussed) a pink dot on a map misses most of the fun of the game!! :old:

Thanks, Aigburth.

Yes, I know is only applies to the old versions.

But I am playing a gotm now, and that is in ptw.

Thanks thats an interesting site, I can see many of those vessels from my office!

Sadly the Port of Liverpool is a shadow of its former self, I would like to see a similar page for somewhere like Hamburg or Rotterdam
