Own4 Celts 130k DG- Now Open SG

Well....
I had some trouble loading teh save, so i figured it was cause i dont have the v1.22 patch :mischief:

So, i go to the patches page, download it, and it says, "do you want to remove the components?" or something to that effect

I'm like, remove? thats wierd, but i say yes anyways, it finishes very fast, and im still stuck with v1.0
Whats wrong? How do I upgrade my friggin game?

That was great work killercane especially getting all those techs. I have one question, how did you do this?
killercane said:
Turn 1: Change a few builds. Borrow 126 gold from France for 7 gpt.
I went back and tried it and I couldn't make any kind of deal like that.

I must have did that on turn 2 rather than turn 1, since France had 128 gold when I did it, and they only have 122 at 1250. The AI charges a 9% interest rate, IIRC, so 1 gpt will get you 18 gold. You have to turn down the science slider first (so that you have excess gold) to trade. I dont think I could have pulled philo in 4 turns by grabbing more gold on turn one.

The why is at 1250 lux is at 30% and science is only at 40%. By cranking up science to 70% (and then 80% after settlers are produced, and the need for lux fell), philo was gained in 5 turns eventually rather than the 10 turns it would have taken at 40%. This was only possible by running a deficit.

Brilliant, Mr killercane.

The Save

I guess now is the time to stop massing settlers and start massing Gallics. There's just barely room for 2-3 towns near the river between Turky and Japan, plus perhaps a bit of land to fill on the north-east.

I guess map making isn't out, so I'll just say let's use this temple in Iron City as a harbor pre-build. 9 turns roading with 1 worker at present, probably less than hand-building the harbor, but we never know when India will try and cut the lawn under our feet.

@ Beorn-mmmm...about the harbor, our workers will complete the road to iron city in like 4 turns...but its up to you guys
@Own-Yes, i think a government change to monarchy would be quite good ;)

also, there is a second source of iron to the south, and a settler will arrive there in 2-3 turns, with 3 workers already building a road to it

mmm...rather close, definatly within range of charging gallic hordes ;)

Looked at the save.

Monarchy is available from the Ottomans for lit, HBR, and construction straight up. Next player make that trade immediately.

Iron City can pop rush the temple next turn for 20 shields, and switch to a harbor, saving 80 gold if we wait to revolt for one turn. I think we should cut off the science, pick up the AI gold, and get that harbor done asap. Its the quickest way for the iron.

Nix the Great library for sure, if its not being used as a gallic prebuild. Lets go get the Babs and whoever is in the way of them (India).

Never mind on iron city, growth is in 11 not 1, so revolt immediately and build that harbor.

The 2 workers are 4 squares from having iron city connected, so thats 8 roading turns plus 3 moving to the new square, which means 11 turns. Harbor is the way to go.

Good turns BTW Edd.

Edit: Another edit. This is a big trading turn. The Iro and America have over 450 gold in exchange for monarchy, and with the free scientific techs coming in we might be able to parlay some nice deals.
