However, for one I didn't see anything in the post that would anger Israelis, quite the opposite. Secondly, jokes are often based upon stereotypes and half truths. I'm not saying that Dennis Miller is right, nor do I think he's remotely funny, but I accept that what he said was intended as a joke and I don't think we should get hot under the collar about it.

Nice, accurate, but very, very politically incorrect description of the Palestinians (or Adjacent Jew-Haters if you want ).
Palestinians could have their own state, but Arafat refused the most generous offer from Israel that has ever been made.
It is clear they're just mirroring the Hitler's tactic - after the allies are willing to give you what you demand, ask for more. And when they submit to that again, ask for yet more.
Palestinian want ridiculous things, which would in fact doom Israel to destruction in the future. Don't think for one moment, that if you give them East Jerusalem and whole of West Bank, they will settle for that. No, they will ask for more.
Palestinians have to be crushed - no international aid, make their lives terrible. Only then they'll realize, that the violence isn't the way forward. Nowadays, they live comfortably from the billions of euros/dollars given them by the hated West. Becase of this money, they are capable of keeping on the fight against Israel.
West and especially Europe should wake up - Israel is worth helping, Palestinians are not.

what Olmert is going for - a single sided disengagement, is a brilliant move IMO.
it will allow us to:
* heal better, with our army OUT of direct cnflict.
* kick philistine butt if they attempt anything remotely funny.
* It will establish a DE-FACTO border, which, given time will become a DE-JURA on too.

Exactly. Too many Israel haters here. Israel has bent over backwards to give the palestinians a state. They keep adding terms that they know Israel can't accept if they want to remain a state and then use thier refusal of such rediculous terms as an excuse to blow up cafes and pizza shops full of kids.
Of course in the modern time of moral relativism where to some people there really is no right and wrong, it's easy to equate some moron strapping a vest full of nails on himself and walking into a sbarros, with Israel firing a missle into a car carrying the man who sent said moron into the sbarros as somehow the same in some "cycle of violence".
Israel offered the Palestinians everything they they could short of Israel allowing itself to be destroyed. The Palestinians can either accept 98% of what they want and form a state, or they can keep living in **** blaming everyone else for the fact that their lives suck.
The ball is, and has always been in their court. If they want a state, Israel is waiting. If they want to destroy Israel, they can elect a terrorist orginization as their govern-....oops. They've made their choice, now we (the US) and Europe need to pull all funding to give them a wake up call that as horsehockey as they've made thier lives in their neverending quest to kill every jew in Israel, it can be made a lot worse if we stop handing out millions in charity that we give them every year. They obviously don't want to play nice and don't really want their own state, unless that state is 100% of what is now Israel, including pre 67 borders.
They're already behaving like savages and the election of Hamas just confirms their true motives. If they get pissy because we stop subsidising them, oh well. What are they gonna do, blow themselves up twice?

I really don't see why is sharing Jerusalem with the Pals would put Israel in danger !!! You guys are trying to make the Pals look like the only fanatic in that conflict, the only one not willing to compromise, whan Israeli are the ones doing every thing they can to reach a peace agreement; Facts say NO. Both parties don't want to compromise, to be more precise, both parties have some elements within them that don't want to compromise and those elements are taking all other peace wanting folks hostage.
