I tried to find this covered internationally. I did not find even one word! This impostor we have as a pm played a trick, a trick on Greece, a trick on Europe (was he even alone?) and, finally, a trick on the entire world market, causing billions to be lost and disappear like the fleeting wind. He never wanted a referendum, as it now appears, he only wanted to play this trick so as to make the leader of the opposition look bad, to make him say he is in favor of the deal for Greece, and so to just win some political points with his miserable cronies.

Only one question remains: even if the greek population is so braindead as to accept all this unbelievable act of trickery against it, will the rest of Europe act as if nothing happened? Will you again accept this impostor as a representative of a Eurozone country?

Tonight i am sad, and perplexed. Sad that i lived to be 32 and see a moron trick the entire world (for i maintain he is just a puppet). Perplexed because no one internationally seems to report what happened...

Sadness, followed by perplexed emotions may lead to something else though, Anger, Anger at this government of puppets and tricksters, which singlehandidly caused the world to suffer a near fatal blow, and allof that so that the shadow of a shadow, pm Papandreou, can stay in power...

Europe, it is time to wake up. It is time to WAKE UP.

Edit: Sigh, this is to discuss the latest announcement by the government to take back the referendum, citing that it is now happy that there are grounds for agreement with the right party...

So what is your alternative to the loan? Seems to me it has cross party support because the alternative is much worse for Greece and a fair bit worse for every other person on the planet.

This is not even the issue. Do you accept the tactic employed by Papandreou as ethical? For all you know he has ruined people's finances far beyond Greece and Europe with his referendum trick. I would not be surprised if some people here, the weak at heart, actually died tonight due to him and his pathological trick.

Of course i am against any such referendum. This is not the point. The point is that he played poker with the world, and should be shot for that.

I'm very sorry to see the Greek people being denied democracy by Berlin and Paris... I'll never view the EU in the same light again. Some people are using this crisis to try and grab control of the weaker member states

On the other hand there is now cross party support if I understand correctly.

His stunt hurt the world beyond Greece, but has in the medium terms benefited Greece by getting the major parties to commit to the deal, ending the political bullpoop.

No, it has not even done that. Samaras announced that he is to answer in the Parliament, and not to any representative of the pm. You can make up what this means. This clown might even be the cause of a new civil war.

Could you elaborate please?

Could you elaborate please?

The main idea was that the pm announced in so many words (it is all over the news here) that his idea of the referendum was just a ploy to get Samaras to say that it is inevitable that the package should be accepted. Then used that to pull a u-turn and now say that there will be no referendum, there never would be even a question on Greece leaving the eurozone, and that all this was effectively just so as to destroy the opposition.

Only he failed to do even that. I am sure things are now leading to more serious schisms. But my question here is how the other europeans viewed this in my view hideous and psychopathic trickery, not only played on Greece, not even only played on Europe, but on the whole World.

Just get laid, bro. Probably the best for you anyway. It isn't that you can do anything about it.

So this threat of referendum was a bluff in order to coerce the other side to modify certain things inside the proposal?

Well broadly speaking that was the point I was making.

How did he fail to do this?

I would guess outside Greece he pissed people off by buggering the world economy as the price of political unity in his own country. Quite why the Greeks people would be upset about someone screwing the rest of the planet over for their benefit is what I am scrabbling at here?

It's time to send a Reichsprotektor EU Special Commissioner to Greece to re-establish some degree of responsible government. Also, sack every single public servant and send EU officials to take over their jobs. They don't even need to speak Greek to do a better job.

First steps:

1) Abolish Greek trade unions
2) Dissolve the military, send in EU troops to take over security and defence
3) Raise retirement age by 10 years across the board
4) Institute draconian penalties for corruption (20 years of hard labour on an isolated island)
5) close down/privatize every state-own company that's not generating profit
6) all Greek children will go to boarding schools in other European countries between the age of 6 to 12, further education in Greece will be handled only by EU-certified teachers in EU-run schools

Give it 15-25 years, and then slowly return the country to a democratic rule.

/rant ;)

If you were Samaras would you now be likely to accept to support the person who mocked you in this way?
And i don't care about Samaras, but i do care about the public, which was tricked. Anyway, rant is off for me as well, but i am interested in reading if this trickery is not anathema by the rest of Europe.

What? What are you talking about? Germany and France trying to grab control over Greece?

When the stake is the mutual currency and the life of the EU maybe we could deny them destroying it by taking away their ability to vote on the destruction...

The rest of Europe, the US and China were furious about the buggering of the deal. With a modicum of retrospect, if his actions lances the boil of political resistance then it's a price worth paying.

Without wanting to sound harsh what the rest of the world cares about is the deal going through ASAP. This move freaked the hell out of people. If it doesnt work he's screwed the world to a new depression and we all know where the last one led. If it draws the poison of parliamentary bullpoop then it could have been a good thing.

The important thing is to decide one way or the other by monday morning.

I posted on the other thread too:

Well, Samaras just finished his speech at the Boule (Parliament).
As expected he started it by asking for the pm's immediate resignation.
From then on he claimed that the pm tried to "destroy the cosmos" just so as to trick th opposition into accepting the package, but he did not note that the opposition accepted it under the condition that the pm would resign and there would be elections.

I will try to provide more news as they come, but i also read something about CNN commenting that Papandreou better have a helicopter near him to leave fast.

If he gets the opposition to sign up he saved the bloody world at the cost of his own future.
