Paradox Interactive games

Paradox have their own distribution system: Gamers Gate. You should be able to get all of them there.

Yes, I hear they have recently dispensed with the special GamersGate software you used to need to download so that you can get stuff straight off the site now.

okay question....

I've played the EUIII demo..and I have no clue what I was doing....it looks fun, but i just cant seem to get into it..i have no clue how to play the game...i tried the tutorials...but I have no clue what Im doing...

dont get me wrong, it looks like a fun game, but I just cant get into it....i'll keep trying to play it to figure it out...but i dont get it...

Also, how many of you have the EU: Rome one? Is that one better since the patched came out?

Thanks!

Actually, I can't find your question in your message. Unless your question is just "What the hell?".

lol ok see your point...well one of the question is who has the EU: Rome. I guess my question is should I buy EUIII and play it and hope I like it if I still dont know how to play the demo?

Update to my save with Sweden:

The game is nearing 1819, so I had to expand before exporting the save to Victoria. So I decided to make my American possession bigger, and declared war on England. Result: Alleghany, Carolina, Kentucky and Savannah are now Swedish. Narvik was also liberated from the British. Earlier I had diplo-annexed Saxony(Sachsen, Anhalt) and Berg(Kleves, Münster) and fought a couple of wars against Austria(Erz, Bohemia) and Russia(Pskov, Smolensk).

During my war against England, Portugal decided to attack me. So now I have Tiracambu, Maranhao, Oporto, Tago and Algarve(Portugal moved their capital to Salvador=Rio de Janeiro in a historical event, but now they won't get to move it back to Lisboa :D).

Anyone have any opinions of their version of Diplomacy? Besides Victoria, do they have any other WW1 games, maybe more in the vein of HoI?

I never played Diplomacy beyond the demo. Didn't seem all that good based on that.

As far as I know there are no Paradox WW1 games. There's the 1914 Mod for HoI2. I haven't played it myself, but I did play the version they created for the original HoI, which was rather excellent.

There isn't any expansions to EUII, is there?

I was thinking about buying it, but would rather buy all the parts at the same time.

I can tell you've been paying attention :p EUIII has Napolean's Ambition and In Noinee expantions, so buy the EUIII Complete pack.

He's talking about Europa Universalis II. I don't think EU II had expansions indeed, but I never had it. Might want to do a quick research and wait for another answer. I think there was a different version in Asia, but not an expansion per say.

The irony is almost sickening.

Does anybody know of any projects to update Victoria on Paradox's drawing board?

Like SimonL said, there is a "expansion pack" for EU2 called Asian Chapters. From what I've heard, it's not worth it. But vanilla EUII definitely is. :) It's at 10€ at Gamersgate (a bit expensive for such a old game, I would say); I guess you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

Instead of getting Asian Chapters, download some of the mods. AGCEEP massively expands the content of the game, with leaders, monarchs and events. Also, the source code has been released (to a few persons), so we might see a small expansion soon.

If you're still not convinced, try to read some AARs. Taniciusfox is writing one now. I would also recommend this one - this was the AAR that dragged me into EUII. :)

Remember, Atticus, there's no way back after you've started to play AGCEEP. Be ready to sacrifice your real life on the altar of AGCEEP. :D

Ok, thanks everybody, you too PrinceScamp :)

Yep, it's 5.99 in one Finnish store, 3.99 for those who are able to visit the shop in Turku!

I'm actually little afraid of that, and this is not a joke :D
