I hope she gets booked for awhile. It will do the whole world a favor.

story here

Don't count on it. Drinking and driving is nothing in this US. She won't even lose her license or get a criminal record. We make Americans turn away and go back home everyday over DUIs. They think it's not a big deal, we think it's a felony.

Paris Hilton knows how to drive? Yikes!

And De Lorimier, you're completely wrong. For example, I've had a friend who'se had a DUI, he had his licence removed for 6 months and had to spend the night in jail, if he ever gets another DUI his licence will be suspended for 5 years. I think he also had to pay a pretty steep fine.

Allright then, I guess it depends on the sate. But it's still not considered a felony. Anyone getting caught drinking and driving here gets a criminal record. It's a very serious offense.

Just kill her now. End my pain.

If only that were the case. If she was ever sent to jail (which will happen eventually) the resulting media firestorm would make Martha Stewart blush. What is she, like 22? Lets face it, we're stuck with Paris for a loooooooong time:cry:

Far from me the idea of wishing for someone's death, especially someone as irrelevant as her. But if we were to hold a death pool, Paris hilton would be one of my top picks. She will kill herself, be killed or die in an accident in the next ten years. Mark my word: She is doooooooooomed!

meh, so how much did she actually have in her blood?

from the sound of it, I've been driving way "drunker" and it was perfectly legal.

I was thinking about this earlier, and I'd be extremely disappointed if they just gave her a fine. Even $100K, she could still bail out of it and not blink an eye.

But give her 1,000 hours of community service, and she's picking up garbage on the side of the road in an orange jumpsuit whether she's rich or piss poor.

Oh. come on, Does she look like she is drunk?

ummm.... in that state she might be in my league.

@Garric: Could it depend on the state or the county you are caught?

I've never understood why celebs get caught drunk driving. Mel Gibbo was done for the same earlier in the year, amongst other things. Surely when you have all that money you can either get one of your lackeys to take you home or pay for a cab?

Then again 'normal people' have sat in that cab euwww!

In the state of Ohio,if someone reach to the total of 4 DUI's convictions,he or she will be sent to prison mandatory of 6 months to a year.Felony in the 5th degree is what they call it.

I should know,cause i have a few.:scared:

Uh, instead of going to jail, why not just call a cab? Lets see, lets weigh them on the Scale of Unpleasantness.

Left side - Taxi

Right side - Jail (kerplunk)

Yep, just as I suspected, jail is more unpleasant than taking a taxi!

Actually, not so. We keep it on their record for quite awhile. Here's some info and a link:

48 hours to 11 months, 29 days of jail time
.20 BAC or greater gets you a minimum jail sentence of 7 consecutive days
license revocation for 1 year
ordered to participate in a DUI school
pay restoration if any person suffered physical injury or personal loss
$350 to $1500 in fines
Judge can order you to install a vehicle interlock device on your car at your expense

Well, alchohol on top of almost limitless stupidity, that's a deadly combination.

Allright, but that's in Tennesse only and is still just kept on the driving record, it's not a criminal record like in Canada.

Not necessarily. A lot of celebrities get community service, and since the courts don't specify what exactly that has to me (at least that's what I hear...), that could include, say, dropping in on a charity fundraiser ball or holding a press conference to tell her darling fans that they should not drive and drive. If we're going to see her in an orange jumpsuit, its going to be on the Simple Life

I'm not so sure about that. I know that Boy George ended up sweeping the streets in an orange suit for his community service.

Sorry, but that's just not correct.

DUIs are typically legislated at the state level. So, some states are more lax than others.

And, it is part of your criminal record if the state so definies it. I'm sure California does.

Yeah, at some point you have to stop and get out of the car.
(just kidding)
