I have my game un downloaded let me download it and see if it upgrades to the 558 patch. Ok I see its not ready yet. I will wait to download then until it comes out. Then I plan to play a bit and get used to it again before new expansion.

Ah, so no new icons as of yet, which makes me believe the new natural wonders (Along with Lake Titicaca and Mt. Everest) will be included with the "MP animations patch" coming alongside G&K.

Did anybody who saw the patch notice anything different apart from the added options and the loading screen?

I started a game pre-false patch, and the patch hosed up the save game. I was Inca, but when I loaded, I was Mongol except on the menu screen, where I was Spanish. So when I started playing this one, and I got notice it was going away, I went into offline mode - determined to finish it.

I noticed the research agreement system is back to the old way - providing one-time bonuses at the end of the agreement instead of a steady supply.

I have skipIntroVideo set to 1 in my UserSettings.ini file, and previously I just got a black screen. Now I get a black screen with the Civ5 logo and a LOADING... message. If I change my .ini setting to 0, then I just get the same old intro video.

Thanks! I hadn't noticed there was a way to turn off the intro video

Nope. No progress indicator, just the logo and text. Remember that 2K Greg said this was a half-baked patch, though.

It was that way all the time, Thal added the "steady supply" instead of the lump bonus in his gem...
