Found 2 bugs in the latest patch other than the spanish language problem.

1. The Tech Tree boxes are so small they cut off the writing. Ceremonal Burial is simply Ceremonial Buri - not only has it cut off the name, but you can't see how long it would take you to learn the tech.

I noticed this too, but if you let the mouse cursor hover over the tech box then a box comes up with the full name of the tech and how long it will take to research it.

2. The little indian huts scattered around the map - the ones that had money, tech, maps etc are no longer there.

If you are talking about the Goodie Huts, then this problem is unique to you, since they are still there in my game.

Other things noticed:
-the spanish thing from above.
-the savegame editor no longer works - in fact none of the civ tools work anymore.

By savegame editor do you mean the utility created by Gramphos, or the trick of using "multi" in your savegame title? They removed the ability to reveal the map by putting "multi" in your savegame title, and utilities such as Gramphos' MultiTool (which includes the Save-game Editor) will most likely have to be updated by their maker to be compatible with the new patch.

Yeah, I can't see how long it takes for the techs anymore either...It is really quite annoying. There is plenty of unused space that they could be expanded into, also.

I have to disagree there. I found lots of goody huts. and receive all 3 of the above things mentioned at various times. Maybe a rival civ got to them before you? or if you are playing small islands, maybe there are none on your island? i don't know, just a thought.

Also, CTRL+Shift+M clears the screen OK for me (you had me worried there for a second...can't find the coal later on unless I do that ;) )

The Egyptians are telling me that I broke a similiar treaty with the Germans, when I ask them for a right of passage agreement. However all I've done is attack the Germans, I'm quite sure I've never had a right of passage agreement with them.

Well, It doen't work with my keyboad. All other hotkeys I've tried works, but not that one. I have to take to long way to use that feature.

me too...
Scenario properties do crash in every condition. Tabs in german.
Seems to happen to all users of non-US/English OS. Im Using a german version of Win2k...

*sigh*

If you move you mouse cursor over it, you will see a "bubble text box".

This was in v1.17, too. If you break a peace treaty, all AI players will be reluctant to sign ROPs after that. But I agree that the AI gives misleading information.

Will I be able to add my own governments without the game crashing now? Before I added some governments and the AI could use them fine but when I held a revolution and switched to them the game would crash at the end of my turn.

I have had disappearing tabs in the editor, disappearing row in the editor, disappearing buttons in the editor. I had some tabs with the information (Citizens, for example) disappeared from the tab.

This was without even modifying anything. Just went there to check it the changes.

I started a new game, with default rules; it took some (maybe all) of the rules from my last mod and applied it to a totally new default rules game. I verified the bic file was what it was supposed to be.

And I have never had a problem with the 1.16 or 1.17 patches along these lines.

I will say some of the changes don't make sense.

In one game. I also had the necessary tech to establish embassies, and it wouldn't let me. It would not even show me the other civs I had contact with.

It would be nice if Firaxis explained some of the more obscure statements on the patches, as well as in the editor itself. There are some references to things done in the editor without stating where in the editor the changes can be made!

* Editor: Removed option to customize world from scenarios that contain a map.
Why?

Fixed worker automation bug involving shift-A
What problem(s)?

* Fixed building prerequisites to allow buildings to require buildings that are bestowed by other buildings but only if 1 is required. If more than 1 or required, they must actually be built.
To repeat a number of other posters spread across at least 3 different fan sites: HUH????

* Fixed Foreign advisor bug where recently met civs would not appear on the screen in a > 8 player game.
Not sure what this is supposed to mean. I did play a game where I had set 11 other civs to figure what you meant. For the first time, I had 2 blank spots on the Advisor's screen when I had already met 3 other civs, 2 of which, pre 1.21, would have been shown. As well as my comment above about not seeing any civs in one game when I had met and communicated with at least 4 other civs. No faces, no options to shift right click, no embassy ability even though I had the correct embassy tech in that game.

* Wonders now work
HUH????

The AI will invariably blame you for things you never did. It's been that way since the game came out.

If you select the no barbarians option you lose goodie huts also.

What's the betting that good ol' Firaxis will release the full editor (with all the add units, etc) in the expansion pack, and charge us for it.

They also don't want the likes of me, Dark Shear, etc making new units because, hey! I see a crusades pack, and a future pack still to be sold! It'll look a bit bad if we start churning out all the units before they do...

As it is, I guess I'll just have to use the 1.17 editor.

I still think it's a bit of a p!ss take, though. After all they could have fixed the 'cancel a' to add bug by v.1.17. My guess is that they realised how popular modding was, and so decided not to let us make them for free, but too sell us them, instead.

I can't see any other complications, after all...

Firaxis:rocket2:

If nobody has said it yet, new patch doesn't work with the hacked editor

So much for having mod makers! You get this error and can't see anything in a .bic file with the hacked editor.

Looks at bug report/

Looks at own game/

Bug report = zero

Idiot count = okay I'm gone :D

I play the game at 1600x1200 (using KeepRes=1 in my .ini file), and the text bubbles on the technology tree come up in the wrong place, as can be seen in the pic below. My mouse is hovering over the "Chivalry" tech (you can't see the mouse cursor because I did a print-screen and it turns the mouse cursor off for that), but the Chivalry pop-up bubble looks to pop up where it would pop up if I were in the standard resolution.

Just a bug, doesn't affect the game, which overall, kicks butt. :)

The BIC and SAV file structures have been changed to accomodate the new features and bug fixes, particularly saving the rules in the SAV file.

The NEW CIV3ED (the official one) is backward compatible with old BIC files, but the old one is NOT forward compatible. You can't edit a BIC file created with the NEW editor with the OLD editor.

HOWEVER, you can create a BIC file with the OLD editor, adding NEW UNITS, ETC....... with the A/D bug .... THEN edit it the NEW CIV3ED.

You can IF you saved your old CIV3ED.EXE file:D

Since the BIC file and SAV file structures were changed, you can't expect the SAV and Multitool utilities to work UNTIL new versions work with the new file structure. IF Firaxis had followed the Microsoft model, you would have to purchase an UPGRADE to CIV3 to get the new features. :D :D

Confirmed, I run 1600x1200 as well, it's definitely not in the right place...
