I just realized that Military Academy didn't get a buff (such as +4 culture, +100% military unit production), which might be the most disappointing thing in this patch along with Gers and Cossacks also not getting a buff, so obliviously the patch is more than great!

Attack Sub: 30 strength, 7 moves, 180 cost

It'd be nice to know if it still has bonus against Submarines (I guess not).

Looks like they didn't give stealth destroyers any cojones.

But they allowed Destroyers to be upgraded to Missile Cruisers, which is weird though, because they're completely different ship classes.

EDIT: Do shown quest requirements now meet the civilization specifics, ie. Greek National Sports League quest would now be shown as x Odeons requirement, not x Colosseums requirement, nothing wrong with possiblity to complete, but has there been change to shown information?

"Colony Maintaince capped at 2*Distance maintainence"

Does this mean that in the state property civic there is no colony maintainence?

I read most of it, and skimmed a bit of it... but couldn't see a fix for the combat animation bug. Anyone else see it?

"Added minimal conscription ability to all gunpowder and melee units that didn't previously have it"

Can someone please explain it to me (since I'm a none native speaker). I thought nationhood gives you conscription ability through drafting, but what is a conscription ability of a unit?

Edit: By the way, great work!

!

I am, and I dont understand it either. doies this relate to a scenario?

It means that, for example, you could draft Axemen, I believe, if you have no more advanced tech.

The next line in the changelog is the explanation:

"Prevents situation where you can't draft when you can build SAM Infantry but not Infantry "

Yeah this is needed to fix an CTD involving colonies. When a colony is made defenders are drafted from the population, if there are no valid units to draft then it crashes.

Hey I just noticed this:

Improved Espionage screen (by Almightix)

Awesome. I never actually installed this one but I remember seeing screenshots and thinking: "Hey that's nice, Firaxis should integrate it into a patch or something".

The default espionage screen is quite functional but kind of ugly.

Sounds good, I am confused by this part though...

(Three gorges/ Hydro/ Nucplant/ unhealthiness)

Is the unhealthiness intended or not? Maybe I am reading this wrong...

Me too. Is it just incorrectly explained or what....?!!

This looks like a great patch. One small but well appreciated detail is that unit artstyles can have different buttons.

I also think it's a testament to Solver's ability to listen to people's observations about the game and come up with solutions that this patch change list and his seem to have about 75% commonality!

Any city with power Should get 2 unhealthiness
(coal power adds an additional 2)

The problems were
TGD was giving the unhealth to cities on other continents
Hydro+nuclear plants weren't giving unhealth if no coal plant was present

"Colony Maintaince capped at 2*Distance maintainence"

Does this mean that in the state property civic there is no colony maintainence?

That would really be a boost to State property... however, if Corporations are being beefed up through lower maintenance, then that also hurts State Property, so that may be the Balance.

Well Solver sort of, kind of, works for Firaxis so I wouldn't be surprised if a number of these fixes were taken from his patch directly.

But they allowed Destroyers to be upgraded to Missile Cruisers, which is weird though, because they're completely different ship classes.

Well Missile Cruisers fullfill the combat role destroyers did

it seems like a Modern Era Escort is going to be

Missile Cruiser (to deal with MCs, Destroyers, Battleships)
Attack sub (to deal with Subs)
Stealth Destroyer (to deal with Air and Stealth Destroyers)

Cristo Redentor allows 1 turn between civics changes, not zero turns.
Espionage Poison Water and Unhappiness amounts no longer incorrectly scale with game speed
Inflation no longer increases after the game time limit has been reached
Adjusted corporation maintenance for inflation
Corporation Headquarters give 4 gold per corporation city to balance corporation immunity to inflation
Colony maintenance capped at twice the distance maintenence

Many good balance changes and I especially like the last one as I pleaded for that one.

I really like this patch and I really think that it was worth the wait. On the other hand, I think you (Firaxis/2K Games) might have hurt your reputation a bit with some of the gamers by leaving some significant and noticeable bugs in the game for quite some time after release. The most well known and noticeable are probably the Poison water supply/Foment unhappiness bugs on some game speeds and the corporation costs combined with high inflation levels and some crash bugs. It is good that these have been fixed by Solvers unofficial patch and many who are on the forums might have used this unofficial patch. But the gamers who don't go to forums will have had to play with these bugs for quite some time.

It wasn't a problem for me personally, but I guess that some less fanatical civ players who don't come to the forums might have disliked the expansion pack because of crash and balance bugs. And that is a pity as the expansion pack has some great additions to the game.

Good luck with further bug hunting and designing new games. :goodjob:
