Patch v3.13 change list

I agree. I feel though that Warlords was not supported very well. But I do have faith that BTS will be different. I understand the bugs bit and how all systems cannot possibly be tested etc. And how the game evolves due to the benefit of such a large fan base. And I am appreciative of the fact that Firaxis takes time to tweak the game based on our feedback. Thats in everyones best interest.

But it is the gameplay problems of major features that bug me. I'd have rather waited till the Christmas season for the release of a game whose major features are solid; than to wait months for a patch to make the game whole. Leave the patches for genuine bug fixes, minor tweaks, and final spit and polish. I dont think patches should be used as a crutch to extend failed release deadlines as relates to major aspects of gameplay (such as the flawed Espionage and Corporations in BTS).

And I'd rather have the dozens of hours of enjoyment I've already tallied playing BtS with its current flaws than be waiting for Christmas for a product that might well still have issues that would cause you to not play.

I'm glad to see the trade route fixes. They weren't a big problem, but I kept seeing trade routes that had the same modifiers and base commerce, but one might yield six and the other nine.

Sheesh, people. There has been no announced release date. It will be released when they feel it is ready to be released. *If* they feel it's ready to be released. If their QA finds a serious bug, 3.13 may not get released and we may get a 3.14 after another round of QA. Or maybe a 3.15, or a 3.22.

I hope the serious bug that is causing the realase delay it is related to the fact that submarines are supposed to be deadly submerged machines,but inside 3.13 despiting their tiny strenght raise, they seem to be flower-power ambassodors instead.

This has to be the longest change list in the history of change lists...! although for some reason several items are repeated in the list.

kind of shows how their play testing of BTS was very lacking. on the other hand I think the game will be much better now and much more difficult. I notice my one very simple but important bug fix was apparently not made. blah.

when is this coming out and why is this upcoming patch not being played up more on the front page of this site?

Sorry if you found my post obnoxious, but for crying out loud, this thread is basically 16 pages consisting mostly of people asking when the patch is coming out and NOBODY KNOWS! I just think you would have had your answer if you read some of the posts.....

It's a video game folks. I know we're fanatics because of the website we all visit, but come on. It's a video game we play in our spare time for fun.

I'm looking forward to the patch because I think it will enhance the fun I've had with this expansion. There are some niggling flaws that I'm happy are being addressed, but to elevate it to the status of cars not running, or consumer appliances that don't function is just plain silly.

God forbid we ever have an actual real world problem to deal with.

No one will officially be able to tell you when the patch will be out. I reckon that the soonest we will know is when it is released for download. Sorry, but that seems the most likely situation at present. Otherwise, judging by the size of this thread, I can imagine a lot of calling in sick to workplaces if a morning release was announced ahead of time.

Also, with alternative methods of purchasing the game (such as digital downloads and Steam) I wonder are there obligations on the side of 2K/Firaxis to make sure any such digital retailers are provided with the patch at the same time as the CD version? Or will there be a delayed release for the digital compatible patch? I have the Direct2Drive version, so I'm crossing my fingers for a synchronised release!

So, once again for those not wishing to scroll through all the posts: there is no, repeat, no release date for the patch as of yet.

Shall we start our stopwatches for the next "When's the patch coming?" post?

There's been a lot of discussion about how the new patch might unbalance sea units with the changes to attack subs.

Okay, if Firaxis does decide to tweak naval units at some later date, could they PLEASE do something about invisible units being pushed out of the way by units that can't detect them. It's crazy that an enemy galleon can push aside my sub out of its space with no consequences, and sail on its merry way.

I would have such an un-detected unit maintain its position and initiate a battle between the two units, with the undetected unit getting one or 2 free strikes.

Original Civ 4 wasn't stable. It took 1-2 patches for most people to have it in a playable state for a whole game.

Incorrect. Look up the polls from the time. 99% of people had it work fine and dandy out of the box. The 1% that had really cool ATI cards whined loud enough to make you think 99% of people had broken games out of the box though.

For some reason i can't bring myself to play 3.02 anymore, knowing a new patch is comming out. Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? I want this patch so bad... can't wait...
