There's been a lot of discussion about how the new patch might unbalance sea units with the changes to attack subs.

Okay, if Firaxis does decide to tweak naval units at some later date, could they PLEASE do something about invisible units being pushed out of the way by units that can't detect them. It's crazy that an enemy galleon can push aside my sub out of its space with no consequences, and sail on its merry way.

I would have such an un-detected unit maintain its position and initiate a battle between the two units, with the undetected unit getting one or 2 free strikes.

Thanks,

Jeff

Read the patch change list better. :)

Invisible units no longer get bumped when an enemy occupies the same tile.

But I don't think the free strikes will occur once a unit that can see the invisible unit appears on the horizon.

Hey don't mean to be a bother, but 1) is this out yet? and 2) if not, does anyone have any clue if it will be less than a month from now?

For some reason i can't bring myself to play 3.02 anymore, knowing a new patch is comming out. Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? I want this patch so bad... can't wait...

same experience with u, and my computer has been cold since the thread out:sad:

Incorrect. Look up the polls from the time. 99% of people had it work fine and dandy out of the box. The 1% that had ATI cards whined loud enough to make you think 99% of people had broken games out of the box though.

No. There were huge memory leaks in Vanilla until the 1.52 patch making crashes way too frequent for most people.

Shall we start our stopwatches for the next "When's the patch coming?" post?

Well that didn't take long..............

... because during regression test, new problems arised ...

Ah but "done" means finished, not "done with the first draft/alphaversion", at least the way I learnt it ;)

I'd guess some evil publisher scheming as the reason for why it's not ready for release. Maybe something to make it available for steam and such rubbish, as some pointed out above.

just a little question...hasn't been asked for a while :mischief:

what is the release date for the patch? does anyone know :nospam:

I think that the pole sould be like this:
For how long is it worth waiting?...
Only hope(like anyone else)that it will be a solid patch.

We are done with the patch, but unfortunately we will not be able to release it this week as we had hoped

Yes, but the announcement made it sound like it was just a few days away. I suppose i can wait but I am experiencing withdrawl. Symptoms include:

Lack of interest to play BTS 3.02
Visiting this site every 3 hours
Reading the patch notes over and over

Oh well, I will be patient...

Have you read through the forums here where each and every day someone is complaining and saying that this game is completely unplayable because of these bugs? Take three seconds and look in the bug reports forum or all the pages in this thread. I'm not trying to defend Firaxis here. I'm trying to make people use their heads a bit and think about what they are saying before they say it. I can guarantee you that more than 90% of the people doing all the whining and crying have NEVER worked in the Videogame industry, or ANY industry where resources and timelines impact the final product. Too many people are just the end-user who expects everything to be fine and go their way and wants monetary retribution or punishment to others if they don't get what they want. That drives me nuts, and it happens with more than just videogames. I hate seeing that type of behavior and attitude approved of anywhere, hence why it seems to hit that nerve for me. :crazyeye:

This poster reminds me of Basil Fawlty replying to complaining guests...

Patience?...First of all you sould recognize the irony(it is a sence of humour).
And second i have had patience every time a patch was needed to play Civ & expansions,so for now i just want to play a game that i have bought as soon as it came out and still have problems,so...

Actually, your first example is not ironic but merely sarcastic. The two are often confused.

Your second statement is in fact unintentionally ironic, as you claim to have had patience every time a patch was need to play Civ whilst the entire tone and content of your post suggests a lack of patience and the end of your tether.

I have no disagreement with your frustration and desire for patch. I do not share your sentiments, but many within this thread do. I just find it funny that the word 'ironic' is one of the most wrongly used words in the dictionary! :D

I love the post by Ethric, suggesting that some 'evil publisher' is scheming, whilst claiming it is rubbish to produce a patch for digital versions (as I have purchased). It reminds me of a friend who claims that Mordor is the biggest contributor to global warming...

Now I hope my attempt at keeping a light and playful tone in my post did not get taken the wrong way, hmm? ;)

Though most publishers are evil (:p), and what I meant was rubbish was if they held a ready patch back to get it onto digital distribution first/at the same time as it was otherwise available. Pure speculation of course.
