Still think it's worth the wait...hrmph...a tiny bit frustrating, but it's definately (hopefully) going to be worth the wait...

I left home for a week confident that the patch would have been published when I came back, since one week had already passed after the week we were told that the patch would not be published during "as planned"... However, there is no sign of a patch, or any news about it. To say that I find this annoying is putting it mildly; I'd change my vote if I could.

And yet, when you do receive the patch I suspect that you would change your vote back again if you enjoy its contents. I am not mocking your comment as I understand your frustration even if I do not share it.

As for any "sign of a patch, or news about it", thankfully a number of people with level heads have linked to the apolyton forum where alexman updated us as to the situation (the post above your own, plus others a page or two back). Paraphrased, the initial patch had a couple of issues that needed addressed, and the new updated patch should be released early this week.

So there you have it, you should have the patch in a day or few. :)

Was this really necessary? +50% is already quite a bit of extra commerce, and this will underpower mercantilism quite a bit.

I think it had something to do with the colonies...

That's what I'm thinking too.

I also think they should really do something about Imperialistic.

Well Imperialistic mostly needs the fix of having Settler/Worker food count like regular production (so that it gets the bonus too)

The problem with Mercantilism is it is designed for small cities or Warlike empires. Maybe if it gave +1 Gold per Specialist? or an additional Free Specialist in your X largest cities.

So the patch is delayed eh? Anyone have a clue when it will come? Sorry Im to lazy to go through all these pages.

Alexman *thinks* it will come early this week(today?).

No, Alexman said "early next week", he posted that on Sunday, so I would take it he meant next week (like, in a week's time). If he meant it to be early this week, wouldn't he just say "a few days" ?

 lets start the speculation:
:hmm: he posted sunday GMT but saturday US-Time - does the week start on sunday for him? If so did he mean to post sunday and so meant next week (as in NEXT week) or did he post on saturday and meant next weeks (as in THIS week)?
I can already see that this will keep us occupied until Thanksgiving when the patch will probably have been released :hide:

Isn't Sunday the first day of a week...? Good point in "a few days", though.

For me this week means the week we are right now anyway.

I think that depends which culture you belongs to or more correctly which culture your country belongs to.

Anyhow, I think sometime during the next week are to be expected unless of course they have invented some new bugs on the way or perhaps if alexman/firaxis lives in another time reality than the rest of us. In that case someone with inside information (perhaps Solver could) should do a conversion to the Terranean Standard Timeline.

That's excellent, but I think Alexman should have posted about it here too.

Jeez. If I were Firaxis I would NEVER post in these forums ever again and never make mention of ANYTHING here at CivFanatics. Regardless of what they do, somebody will decide to . .. .. .. .. . at them for it. Whether it's not saying anything about a patch, or being kind and saying that they're in the last stages of the patch. Good God!

Yeah exactly, stop complaining. I'm very anxious to get the patch myself, as I've waited to start a new game for two weeks now due to the patch not getting released. If Firaxis hadn't said anything about a patch, nobody would be complaining about it. Here they are, communicating with us like all of us want developers to do, so don't blame them for taking a while with releasing it. Coming here to give us patch notes was a favour they did for their community, and what they get in return are complaints.

If you had any knowledge about programming or at least the gaming industry, you would know that it takes time to code and play-test. Do you think everyone would be better off if they released a broken patch? It had bugs for crying out loud and now they're fixing them. I wonder what your reactions would be if they released a buggy patch? I'm sure Firaxis want to get the patch out as much as we do. It will be out when it's ready, so you just sit back and wait patiently and stop crying like a baby about it.

Yes :goodjob: - now don't anybody argue with him, those are wise words. :king:
