PC Games

LOVE Civ 3. Probably my favorite game ever.

But man, those 20 hour games can get tedious.

I'm not sure if that was me.

Now I have Civ4, EEI (which I don't play), and AoEII installed.

did you beat the AoEII campaigns yet? they're pretty challenging..... wow....I just saw an add for a comp with one TERABYTE of hard disk......

Terabyte is nothing. My home NAS has had 2tb for over 2 years now. Yes its big and yes it has a lot of HD's, but a single TB isnt anything new. Now when you find me a 2TB hard drive, then we can talk.

As for the AOEII campaigns: they arent challenging. Last time I played on hardest it took me not very long at all to beat them.

sorry if I insulted you.... but here in Hawaii, that's the FIRST EVER........

I meant US-wide propagation. Hawaii is part of the US last time I looked at a map. There is no reason why you couldnt have bought a TB drive before.

they're heavy and transportation is a chitb

Also the most enjoyable PC game I have ever played has been System Shock 2. Oh wow that game is amazing.

yep, that's why I said it.....ehehehhe.....

but really, that's like the first easy access shipment of TERABYTE comps, my sucky comp only has 63 gigs.....:badcomp:

That begs the question. Why in the name of all that is holy, would you put windows on a 600 gig partition. What happens when you need to format? A long wait is what, as well as losing a lot of data that could otherwise be kept.

Id prefer 20g for windows and the rest allocated as you wish. That way, if windows goes kablooey, you only need to wipe 20g of your hard drive, which is both faster, and somewhat better for keeping your files.

There are a lot of ways out there to isolate your windows install, even so much as to move your 'My Documents' and "Program Files' to different folders.

Different folders, hard drives. In this case it is the same thing. By different folders I meant outside of the default location for each. So your windows install is on say, C:\WINDOWS and Program Files is on D:\Program Files

Why would I need to format? Anything that can be achieved by formatting a Windows partition can be achieved by just wiping all of Windows' files from a selected partition.

And FWIW, I don't store anything permanently on the C drive, it has Windows, installed programs, and temporary stuff that I haven't sorted yet.

In any case, I've got backups of everything, any of my drives could fail, and at worse it would just waste some of my time while copying backups back over.

I have windows on a 40gb drive and the rest of my stuff on a 200gb drive.

But aren't we off topic? :P
