PDF: Civ4 BtS reference sheet

Anion the improvements you've made since the first edition are almost as impressive as that first version was itself. Twice as delicious, yum yum! I really appreciate you incorprated my earlier suggestions.

I'm not bothered much by creative spelling (as Mark Twain said, it's a man of limited imagination who can only think of one way to spell a word!), so I'll leave that. But here's a hopefully super-simple tweak: rotate the content or page 48 (1st page of promotions tree) by 180 degrees. As it is now, when you do the booklet format it's really nice that the entire promotions tree is on two facing pages (48 and 49), so you can see it all at once, but unfortunately 1/2 the text is upside down whatever way you hold it.

Hopefully that's clear, but in case it's not I'll diagram. Here's what page 48 and 49 look like right now in an assembled booklet print ( "|" shows the staple spine):

48 | 49

The way the text reads right now is this ( "<" and ">" are arrows showing which way you have to orient booklet to read text on that page):

> | <

I'm suggesting rotating page 48 so it looks like this:

< | <

It's really nice how the tree can be all on facing pages for booklet printing! Hopefully you can preserve that goodness by always keeping the first page of the promotions tree on an even page # as you revise ...

Thanks again!

holy specialist economy, Batman! this guide is getting better all the time! I love the keyboard shortcuts diagram at the end.... super job!

I hope the next updated version will come out next week. I'm leaving my company soon and I want to make myself a "goodbye present" on their printers.

Hey, others get golden parachutes, I want my Civ guide.

This is absolutely amazing design to so elegantly cram so much information into such a small space and still be useable. It's something I've always wanted to try myself. Well done!

Any chance you might be able to offer a US Letter-sized version for us on this side of the pond without A4 stock?

Any way to get the printing version to make the page print exactly centered? It always pushes it off to the right which means the center (where it should be folded) is not in the same place on both sides.

Any chance of one like the printing version, but that won't cost $426.24 in cartridges to print?

NOTE: You have to print it with Double Sided Printing on AND Flip Pages Up.

This is awesome.

But I have made a mess somehow.:( I used the second option and printed it out only I did not print it on BOTH sides of the page. I have 34 pages but on one side of the page.In other words, I have all the info but the side by side "pages" on one page is something like 42 - 27;14 - 55, etc.)

How can I salvage this? Cut each page in half and put them in numerical order? That will be thick and hard to handle.

Is it possible for you to put this in a format like LoneWolf did for Civ3? Or put two "pages" in order so they would print out on one 8x11 page. Would be so much easier to handle. (The booklet as of now would be the size of the small manual instead of on an elongated 8x11 printout. I much prefer the 8x11 version with two "pages" on each page. Much easier to handle.)

But as of now, I have all this information but not in any order.Any suggestions for my situation?

dj_anion, you might want to add a note that using the booklet version and the typical Windows printer and Adobe Acrobat, you need to choose the "Flip on Short Edge" option to get the pages aligned correctly for 2-sided printing.

stwils, you could also tape or staple pages together to achieve the 2-sided effect, but it's still be extra thick. Maybe you can find one of those power staplers, depending on where you work. Or I bet Kinko's would let you use theirs.

Amazing work, truly. Sorry if this has been posted already:
- Great Specialists are 'born' and not 'borned' ;-)
- Adding the shortcut for a city gathering point might be a good idea. It's Shift + RMB. I didnt know this for a long time.

OK, got it!! One more dumb question...what is the RMB key???

Cool :crazyeye:

I have noticed on civics page you mark civic groups by labels on outer margin. Those labels are placed at the bottom of each group. This is little confusing as for me particular group is marked by previous group label.

This is because in my opinion labels should be placed at the beginning of particular group.

Overall - we may start new contest now. Everyone who finds a typo or new useful idea what to add to this reference chart - will get $100 as a prize ;)
