Heh, and people routinely deny that the "slippery slope" exists.
One wonders if this isnt the logical progression of the "anything goes" attitude of the left.

Freedom of speech allows them to say what they wish, really legally its no different than a legalise canabis or a legalise gambling party. Just do not vote for them its as easy as that.

On a more personal note: Pedofiles are the worst kinda people. My little sister was assulted by one and in my oppion the best thing about this party is that the members will be out in the public so children can avoid them and mobs may lynch them as soon as time allows.

So if a party like this appears i think some one should make the "Murder Pedofiles Party" They stand for legalisation of Pedofile murder, Legalisation of Pedofile torture and free bus travle throught the netherlands.

according to the article some 65% of the Dutch people agree with me. 87% want the Dutch government to do something about it. In what's like the most liberal country in the world, numbers like that are hard to ignore.

Nothing will be done about it as nothing can be done about it. As long as they don't commit a crime and simply strife to decriminalise an act that is now a criminal offense they are perfectly legal. And that's the way it should be.

I just read the article, the source is the Algemeen Dagblad (daily newspaper), they're on a kind of crusade against child porn. A few weeks ago they had this outraged article that one could find kiddie porn with Google. To demonstrate this they also provided the keywords in the article. Great newspaper...
In other words: I don't trust the numbers this newspaper has come up with too much, They'll do anything to sell more papers. (and to know that my parents have this newspaper... )

In my opinion, there should be no offical limit to age of sexual relations. Although I do support having a low limit where people above the the line cannot interact sexualy with those below (as well as visa versa...).

What really pisses me off is about the part of the platform about sex with animals. I am completely for having laws about having sex with animals being rape as animals cannot give consent!

However, I do like the part about free train travel!

Well, there's no law explicitely stating that sex with animals is prohibited but there is a law that forbids causing of discomfort or pain to animals without a valid reason.
Result is that when small animals are abused this usually does lead to a conviction while abusing a horse or cow doesn't, as no physical harm can be found in these animals.
Lately there is a political discussion to get a law in place to forbid sex with animals though, it's a matter of time really as the big parties are all in favour of such a law.

However, I do like the part about free train travel!

It's funny that they want this as only a few years ago the railways were privatized, so the government has got nothing to say about this.

I agree with Hitro and Rik.

I'm also a bit surprised that a lot of the people on this thread that critisize the Netherlands the loudest for allowing this party are american. The land where racist movements are tolerated and protected (KKK) in the name of freedom of speech, yet when some idiots say they want to legalize sex with children (nobody takes them seriously and they're being looked at closely) people here start to cry out loud.
I'm wondering if these people are the same people that in the past were screaming like crazy over the punishment of holocaust deniers, while in the US they had something great like the freedom of speech.

I'd like to add that although I think these people should be looked at closely and upon engaging paedophilic acts should be punished hard, they should be able to make a fool out of themselves by stating their views.

I personally consider someone who wants something he does himself to be legal certainly not per se as worse than someone who wants to prohibit something others do...
