We currently are under siege by those evil little critters called the Asian Lady Beetle and then by the Boxelder Bug at work.

Just wondering if anyone here has combated these pests, and if so, what did they use and how did they fair?

By odd coincidence I have a similar infestation. My home has become under seige by a horde of Asian ladies (South Korean Comp-Sci postgrads to be precise) after an enterprising young hacker at Seoul National University the managed to aquire my adress through a thoroughly ingenious methodology.

Ants but sprays of deadly chemicals around the perimiter of the house and all windows and doors. Pluss some gnats in my potted plants but they are to be consumed so no chemicals there.

Ants. Fricken ants. I don't know where they're coming from. I'm busting out the RAID on a regular basis, and I have those useless bait traps too.

Ants. Arg. They're our only remaining competitor species.

Squirrels are wrecking my yard, worrying my cat and dog and planting peanuts and corn that my neighbor leaves out for them  . The
cat is pregnant (can't climb now) and the weiner dog hasn't the speed
to catch them :( . I haven't the heart lately to pop them with the
BB gun. And I think the ants are working on overtaking the world  .

I had ants for a while in my basement apartment - they were so bad I couldn't walk in the kitchen without stepping on them - as far as I could find they weren't getting into any food...

I tried those bait traps and that killed THOUSANDS of them but again they came back... I tried the drops but those zapped them so fast they ended up just dieing all over my floor and I had to clean them up all the time (and I suspect none of the poison ever got back to the nest)

So finally I took drastic measures.. Went to the Home Depot and spend $50 on bait traps (of two different types), sprays, rubber gloves etc... I was worried the cashier was going to call the police on me I had so much poison.

Put bait traps everywhere - sprayed raid along baseboards where I saw them coming in, in cracks etc... Finally got them all - haven't seen any ants in a while....

Now mice... don't get me started on those little buggers.

We have roaches. Big ones. They have wings, and they stick to the roof, and fall when you least expect it. We also have mice, (sometimes.) Once, I left my backpack open a little bit, by the door, and when I went to school, I was showing my friends a project I did, an there was a dead mouse in my backpack,. But lately, the infestations haven't been so bad, :).

Japanese Beetles. Hundreds. They get stuck on your clothes, your hair, your shoes...

We also have a fox nest, I tried to smoke them out with a fire and then hit em iwth my paintball gun, but its not working.

Do bunnies count? My little 'hood had like 4 3 years ago now we have 30. 5 or so live under my steps. My neighbor lady hates 'em 'cause they eat her flower. I like 'em they chase the squirels and chimpmonks away and keep my grass short.

give a try to this most marvelous coctail:
get everykind of insectrepellant you have.
add in a bit from EVERY cleaning fluid you have.

the mixture WILL BE HIGHLY TOXIC!
do not imbibe NOR inhale!

pour liberraly aroundyour windosills, doorways, and other openings.

i did this, and still doin EVERY newplace i move into.
i get a niceinsect free, 6-18 months off.

My backyard opens onto a forest, and those trees have crows. I fricken hate crows, because I don't want to wake up at 5am and worry about my garbage bags being torn apart. I was thinking about getting an air rifle, but they're illegal to fire in the city.

I might get a supersoaker and spray them from the window (while inside). I'm trying to think of what to spike the water with to really mess them up.

The table in the garden is built into a tree base with thousands of green-fly. Never gave them much thought apart from making trimming the tree a bit creepy, but now I've got a laptop and after half an hour under the tree the little buggers have shat little sticky beads all over the screen. Given that two of the ajoining gardens have the same type of tree similarly infested my chances of beating them are zip.

So not flying cockies, but still...

Cockroaches. Both in the office and at home. Not the big ones, though. Just little flightless ones.

At the office I paint their backs white using correction fluid. They'd probably die of shame after getting
pointandlaugh.gif
by their brethen when they return to the nest.

Get a slingshot and shoot buckeyes or ice cubes at them.

Right now in my home we have lots of ants, and the occasional wolf/hobo spider.

Let's see:

Carpenter ants when I was quite a bit younger.
Beetles a few years ago. It was pretty terrible, in the fall all the larvae crawled onto the driveway and died, creating an awful stench.
Recently, we've had a lot of squirrels, rabbits, and ravens, because we just put in some grass and the straw that the guy covered it with had seeds.
