Any organisation with the word ethical in their title and who then sponsors terrorism (or whatever you wish to call it) is asking for a slap. Maybe even a giant fish slap.

That would be hilerious if I were the leader of a biker gang and ride up to some PETA protesters with paint and wear a leather jacket and tell them I'm wearing the skin of a dead cow and have them throw paint on me and then I'd stop my bike as well as my gang and me and my biker gang would beat up the PETA.

Hey, I have no issue with vegetarians, or folks like the humane society(although I have heard some goofy things about them). I am all for treating animals ethically, while realizing that in this world there are predators and prey. Fur is one of the nicest things a person can wear for keeping warm, btw.

Consumer Freedom is an organization whose ideology is about as bad as PETA's, so I don't think using their mutual mud-slinging is really furthering the discussion. PETA is too extremist for me, although I am very against inhumanely testing cosmetics products on animals. If Liz Taylor wants to paint her face bizarre shades of fuscia, why should dozens of rabbits be tortured?

Re make up: agreed, what is that stuff anyway? Overall, I think that if we need to be testing things on animals, the stuff probably isnt that good for you anyway, or at least unnecessary.

I'm fine with environmental lobbies, just as all other political pressure groups. But if they incite violence and destruction they should be treated just as we treat all other criminal organisations.

Most environmental organizations, determinedly condone serious crimes when their members go wacky in the streets, which displays everytime their real intent: to promote violence as an incentive to more violence within the environmental-anarchist circles. Believing that violence is an inseperable part of the global environmental discussion is loathsome, and they should be severely punished.

I don't like them either. Their extremism and the condescending way they deliver it are a real turn-off. I've heard tales of them (or was it another group?) vandalizing Habitat For Humanity projects because gettign wood for the projects destroys wildlife habitats. Any group with that kind of mentality is one to be avoided, if you ask me.

Actually Nixon, most environmental groups conduct themselves quite well,(Sierra Club, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, Audoban (sp) Society, WWF, Nature Conservancy) and work within the law. The fringe does get a little goofy. PETA is not about environment. They are strictly animal, domestic and wild. They (as far as I know) do nothing for preservation of habitat.

If they would limit their actions to legal activities, I would consider them as yet another bunch of harmless morons. However, destruction of other people's property and assault cannot be accepted under any circumstance for any goal.
