And how can we work to get Japan more score ( I really don't like to have a single shop to buy... ) ? As we can't Dow smaller guys ( unless requested by other poor guy ?) , no way of getting cities to gift. Corps.... unlikely ( how can we found corps with a all spy specialists? )

One last issue: it is only me, or charlie is getting too strong for confort?

None by building it... but to be able to do that, we need Nationalism first, which we would have to steal from a low-score civ...

As to Japan... As i see it the only option we have, would be gifting them techs... Might help the "Charlie getting to big"-issue as well btw - japan would rais in power to counterweight, and because of the techs we gifted. they would love us :D They are ~100 pts behind... Not sure how many tech's that would make... probable too many...
 
Corps.... unlikely ( how can we found corps with a all spy specialists? )

We have a sleeping Great Merchant just for this if memory serves me right!

i like gifting them techs ~ will look into that. also, we can always wait to see if they trade it away (not likely though, if they are aiming to build taj themselves ~ but that's where tech gifting might help . . .)

also, there is no stipulation that we have to steal EVERY tech available to us, but it would help. I will wait on econ, then.
 
I'd whip a little bit to lower the score, aside of gifting a tech or two .
Also, I think Freddo will get his score up pretty soon - he has conquered most of Booby and has about twice our land. He shall be up soon enough.

Continue the whipping, I start liking it :p

I started off by going through our cities. Only one had a non-spy assigned, so he was fired. We don’t need no stinking priests!

Also, I was thinking that we should have much more production ability in our cities, mostly farming and workshoping the many grasslands that we have. I’m not sure that we’ll need many more spies to be run, though I confess I have no idea. But what we do need is an army, and I think production will help with that for sure.

I also think that since we won't have a shot at Liberalism, we should go ahead and aim for Const and Demo now for more spies. (Jails @ Const and IntAgencies @ Democracy; and there’s also SecBureaus are another bldg that gives us a spy slot.)

We also got a number of requests ~ I denied them all.

I was able to spread Islam to Gisborne, and now all 6 cities have all 4 religions. I’m going to concentrate on culture buildings in our Big 3, and hopefully some units in the other three.

I knew we needed more military, but I just didn’t get it built in time!

I rushed some units there, suicided cats as they came to the city, and we lost a few vultures, but the city will hold. I upgraded some vultures, too, to maces, built knights and pikes and some elephants as JC was sending mostly mounted units there. I also stuck the Heroic Epic in Sherwood as our highest shield city.

However, we did get a victory over Victoria: Tech learned: Economics.

I also made a loophole in the rules for us. Our job is to steal from the rich, and so, tech-wise, you’re “richer” than us if you have techs we don’t :D So I concentrated EPs on those who have techs we might want. Feel free to overrule me ~

I played about 30 turns so that i could finish Printing Press. I’m not so sure that was the best idea since I bent the rules about stealing, but . . . what can you do now? As my last act as player, I eliminated the incursion to our homeland, losing a a couple cats, a mace and a knight, but then winning 11 in a row and we won. We got a GG for our efforts, but JC won’t take peace yet.

I think maybe we should try to go on the offensive a bit if we can. Would be a nice boost if we could grab three more cities. Though, I don’t like that Charlie is now cautious with us ~

Oh, and the Incan Empire has been eliminated. :(

I would go offensive and maybe grab the fine spot he stolen from us on the sea side (in the beginning of the game), what do you think ?
As for the GG, I would make him Instructor in military pump center.

Will look if we can take something from Julle... However we don't really have a Army to speak of, unless our captain improved the situation a lot, so not sure...
 
We should call Victoria to help... I'm pretty sure that she would love to jump into the fight....

We should turtle... we have castles, so making a stand should be easy.
 
Yep, Walls and Castles everywhere, no cottages to pillage... The game just calls for turtling...

Still 3 more cities for full cathedral coverage - and some more production power - would be cool...
 
Turns 330 - 355

The file that should have contained my notes turned out empty, so all i have are a couple of screenshots...

Played till stealing Constitution from Vicky, which is a important cornerstone, as we can build Jails for more Espionage now.

Spent most of the turns in a phony war with Julle. I was building troops however - Siege and Jumbos mainly - those Woodsman II Pikes/Maces are utterly useless. Before the end of the turnset i moved out and took 2 of Jules Cities in a very short yet very bloody outbreak of action. Made peace after that.

We have our 9 cities now, as well as 5 Religions within our Empire...
(Christianity in Tiwanaku. Make sure to build a Monastery there before stealing Sci-Method, so we can spread it later.)

More espionage is crucial. Vicky and Charlie are both teching awfully fast - they got trough with Sci-Method and Physics and are at Communism right now. Communism will bring Int. Agencies - allowing them to catch up in :espionage: spending fast, and cutting our discount.

Also techs becoming more and more expensive. So next step should be building Jails and actually running spys - i went trough our cities on the inherited turn. We had no single spy :cry:

Notes: - I set all cities on Cityzen automation with forced Spy. This achieves 2 things: We actually run Spy's and the Governor will stop assigning other, forbiden specialists (At least untill it has no other choice).
- Check the "new" cities - those have no Spy Slots yet / are in revolt...
- I didn't chop (and would advice against doing so) any of our leftover forests now - we should soon get Rep.Parts for Lumbermills. I.e. Nottingham looks like a good National Park city.
- We have a awfull lot of unused Great People: Artist, Merchant and Engineer...
- I suggest using the Merchant for a GA - helping us to push Jails...
- Also 2 Generals - i think one Medic and one Akademy in Constantinople...

Now i go through the screenshots, and try to remeber why i took those...

Tiwanaku flipped over to us :D It was completely encircled with our culture... Well living in our empire is more fun than in Charlies stinking country... It's awfully cottaged, so i send a couple of Workers to Workshop the stuff over.

Oh, Yea... There was a War going on... After building troops for the most time i finally moved with 2 stacks. Lost quite a lot of Jumbos to Julius Cataphracts, but managed to bring the siege-units through... Dropped defenses with a spy, suicided lots of cats - those Woodsman II maces are uttely useless on they own :cry: - and took Arianople and Constantinople...

Isn't as bad as it may look tho - we have the most important 'economic' tech for Jails. Vicky is the clear leader - got Physics. We should be able to catch up, once we built up the infrastructure.

Besides that it is looking good... we should steal communism ASAP and after that RP and Scimet ( and hope that someone researches Democracy )... we're not that bad....

Can't take Communism before Sci-Method, unfortunately. I would finish teching Rep-Parts on our own - will be fast enought - while hoarding Esp against Vicky and delaying Sci-Met a bit - untill we have all Monasteries.

Disregard the GA comments then...

Another two things i remembered over night:
- The tech is set on Democracy with a awfull ETA in the save - i looked how long it might take and forgot to switch back :blush: - i am pretty sure we can steal it before that. I was actually teching Rep-Parts - trying to avoid putting :science: into Techs we will most likely steal.
- We are far behind Charle and Vicky in military power. I.e. Charlie worries me, as he's a Backstabber (Tho at pleased right now...)... We should keep at least one city making units... Capital has HE, so it's a good canditate. Once out of revolt and has some basic Infra - Barracks, Forge - Constantinople should take over to benefit from Julles Great-MI's...
 
good turns, and this is now the 2nd game where I know i went through our cities for the correct specialists and they aren't there :mad: jails and more spies will help with our science just a bit. Re: GPs ~ the Artist is for a late bomb, the Merchant is for Sids Sushi, and the Engineer i was *thinking* of some late-game wonder, maybe one of the 4 late culture ones. Let's spread Christianity to our big 3 first so we can get missionaries there too before SciMethod.

Other than Sid's, do we want more corps??

The Culture-relevant corps are Sushi, CreateCon, Jewellers, Alum Co. ... From what i remember we don not have a lot of ressource for any of those tho... Perhaps ist's time to make a "Culture Watch" for our big 3, so we can get apicture where we stand...
