Plans for v23

This thread is for modders to post their plans for V23, similar to the plans threads for the last few versions.

My plans are as follows;

Definitely Doing:
-Making more units (both on request and some of my own)
-Adjusting Epic and Marathon gamespeeds, in line with what I have done with Snail and Eternity.
-Continue balancing Snail and Eternity
-Adding promotions for Crime and/or whatever other properties we may add.
-Fixing whatever small bugs I find.

Maybe Doing: This depends on the participation and/or work of the other modders on the specific plans.

-Galactic Era stuff
-Nomad Camp stuff

when you mean create units what do you mean exacty.if you can model the units that need changed are the galactic era one

The way it normally works is that either Hydro posts requests in the 'ls612's C2C Units' thread, along with art, and then I make it happen ingame. I also design a few units on my own, such as the Dromon, which is a wooden ship which will be in V22.
 
As always these are more of goals than promises. If I can do any of them this cycle then it will be an accomplishment.

- Make/Balance Crime stuff
- Convert more Zoo Tycoon 2 Animals
- Make Dieselpunk stuff.
- Plan/Balance Units with ls612
- Do more Culture Wonders/Resources.
- Add more Civic Buildings
- Work on Guild buildings.
- Make more Spots buildings.
- Do more resource related buildings and tweaking.
- More new techs (focus on later eras)
- Add Housing Civic (Maybe)
- Galactic Era Stuff (depends upon the multi-maps)

Anything after that is going to be either ideas I come up with or ideas other people suggest.

Besides that, I would like to:
  • Add some Transhuman/Galactic Era ideas
  • Find bugs that need fixing
  • Suggest some stuff for the Tech Tree
 
I would like to help working with the shaping of our (current, as AIAndy wrote)

ice age and its interglacial periods (-> dynamic climate, shifting terrains, shifting rainfall patterns etc),

nomad start and the

total realism catastrophic events as well as adjusting the game speeds to start from ~300.000 BC.

As I am a not good with code I need examples that I could try to re-arange for the purposes.

So, ls612 and ori, I would be glad to be working with you on these matters, by being of your assistance for brainstorming, playtesting etc.

Would be cool if someone else in the team also would help with this project, which I think is the most ambitious in upcoming versions aside the multi-maps (once they are available)

dark ages reincarnated because I think it's a good chance to level the runaway civs a bit.

Yeah, i'd really like the Nomadic Start, but i am sure that will take quite awhile to do.

As far as the Dark Ages, i liked them before, but Afforess, said something was wrong with them in his forum, but that was around a 1 1/2 yrs ago, too long for my memory.:p:blush:
 
  1. Crashes and hangs as they occur
  2. Phase 2 of the pathing changes (aka total pathing engine replacement)
  3. Rework unit construction in the AI so that units can be requested in a distributed fashion, and will be built in the most appropriate/least busy cities then move to where they are requested from
  4. Other stuff TBD, though with an emphasis on AI enhancement most likely
 
  1. More property system extensions
  2. Connection of property system to outcome system
  3. Nomadic start prototype
