What are you?

in the thread found here we have been off topic with talk about politics and where you stand. 2 tests we have found so far are:
Libertarian Party's test
and this, british, one I find, though, that british ones place me far from where many other canadio-american ones place me
I have, since, found tests at: *note to self, edit in tests here*
http://yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au/~mongoose/quiz/
http://www.studentcenter.org/tests/politicaltest.php
http://www.yougov.com/colours.jsp
http://www.politopia.com
http://www.selectsmart.com
Where do you stand on these issues, and what results did you get

also, included, a map of the different results I have gotten from different tests:

the red dot is where I think I stand. the lt.blue{cyan} dots are british tests, the blue ones are canadian tests, and the dark.lt.blue{dark cyan} ones are american tests
the gray {which comes out blueish on my comp} is the area which I therefore fit.
I'll see if I can find those old tests again... I had them all bookmarked before my comp broke.

I'm a right-libertarian.

On the libertarian test I scored:
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 90%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 60%.

The only personal Self-Government one that I didn't answer Yes for was the open borders one... I'm open to immigration, but not unlimited and free flowing type.

On the happy fun British test, I scored right-libertarian somewhere to the left and down from Milton Friedman.
I found it ironic how Milton Friedman was the only person mentioned on the test by name whom I admire. I guess the test really does work!

In the good old U.S. political system you kind of have to choose sides, and I align myself with the Democratic party. Although I don't agree with many of their economic issues, I'm more concerned about social issues. The irony is sometimes the Republicans, like Ron Paul and Clifford Thies have views which closely resemble mine but choose a different party.
Which is why I work actively inside the Democratic party to move our economics to the right. We'll get there someday :D

I used politicalcompass.org

Economic Left/Right: 6.50 (right)
Authoritarian/Libertarian: 6.67 (authoritarian)

I'm basically the Minnesotan counterpart to the Iron Lady :)

politicalcompass.org:

Economic Left/Right: -6.50 (Left)
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.18 (Libertarian)

http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html:

Left-Liberal
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 90%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 20%.

Politicalcompass.org is obviously run by a load of bearded lefties that consider anything right of Ghandi 'fascist'.

It's blidingly obvious if you look at where they place the politicians that all 'good' people are placed on the left hand side, whilst all the 'baddies' are on the right.

How in the name of god could you place Claire Short in the authoritarian right?

Economic Left/Right: -4.88
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.28

Which places me about on the same spot as Ken Livingstone.

Ok, here is my result.

Hmm. Saving as picture and uploading didn´t work. Well, at the first of Pellakens tests I scored 80% "personal" and 40% "economic". Apparantly I am left-libertarian or something. :) At the second test I came close to Gandi, but I am more of an anarchist.

Basically, I am about as left-ving as Pellaken but totally opposite when it comes to centralized government. :D

I think both of those tests need a little work. I won't hide that I scored:
1.
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 70%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 50%.

Centrist on the first one (Leaning toward Liberal and Libertarian).

2. Slightly Left Libertarian on the second.

As I stated in the other thread, I think these tests are too limited. There is too much of a range of opinion and weight that an individual can have on these topics to narrow it to 3 or 4 choices. My scores are close to Mr. Spice's, but I have observed that our opinions differ quite a bit. If I get around to it I may construct a test that goes in more depth....Depends If I need to do more work on our budget than I plan.

Okay, before I begin the political compass test, let me say that I have a BIG problem with it.

Question #1:

"If globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."

What kind of a loaded question is that? What do I say if I happen to beleive that the interests of humanity and of trans-national corporations are one and the same in this instance?

Jesus!

Political Compass is not fully accurate, it moves stats too much to Right/Libertarian (Liberal).

http://politicalcompass.org

Economic Left/Right: -2.25
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.77

I found out I was slightly left wing and half-way libertarian.
It's real cool how I can discover my political position over the net.
I'm gonna try all the tests and see how they rate me...

There's a very good one at www.politopia.com. that puts me somewhere close to Jesse Ventura. Not a bad placement, despite the guilt by association.

But - despite the loaded nature of the questions at political compass - it too put me as Right Libertarian, and I sort of consider myself a so-called "social libertarian," so I'm ok on that. I scored a 100% personal and 70% economic on the Libertarian Party test. So I must be crazy :satan:.

The funny thing is, there are not alot of questions on issues of economic regulation in either, which tends to be where I get my "social" half; I don't mind sound environmental and consumer protection laws provided that they are more than just there for show.

Ugh. That studentcenter.org test (like the other tests actually) was much too simplistic and poorly organized.

"Do you approve of homosexuality?" Umm, for myself, for everyone, or just as an abstract concept?

"Do you believe in God?" I hate it when people think there's a one-word answer to that question. I want to know what you consider to be God.

And that bit about "prayer in schools" always makes me laugh. I went to a Catholic school. Yep, we prayed. A school rule was that every class had to begin with a prayer. If you want your kids to pray in school, it doesn't take an act of Congress. Just send them to a religious school.

Well, the Politopia quiz put me on the GW Bush side of Centerville. Ironic, since I didn't vote for Bush and disagree with a lot of his politics. I think my radical statist views (I support social security and nationalized healthcare) cancel out my radical libertarian views (no restrictions whatsoever on drugs, sex, or speech).

I'm not sure why the folks who drew this map put FDR so far over to the side of "fewer personal freedoms". FDR was the one who campaigned on the Four Freedoms (freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, freedom from fear). Sounds like a supporter of personal freedom to me.

http://www.self-gov.org
Left-Liberal
Personal Self-Government: 80%
Economic Self-Government: 20%

http://www.yougov.com
19% Libertarian
Slightly left-wing
Best suited to the Liberal Democrats

http://www.studentcenter.org
My views were moderate
Most likely an Independant or a Democrat

http://www.politopia.com
A "Southerner" very close to Jesse Jackson.

So overall I have discovered that I am slightly Left-Wing and slightly Libertarian. (Including the test at politicalcompass.org)

It says I'm a libertarian, it was slightly to the left. I took the libertarian test. I took the political compass test and it said I was halfway libertarian and right in the middle economically.:king:

Politicalcompass:
Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8.56

http://www.politopia.com

SW- You would feel most at home in the Southwest region You advocate a large degree of personal freedom and a large degree of government control over the economy. Your neighbors include such folks as Jesse Jackson, Ralph Nader, Hilary Clinton, and Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine, and may refer to themselves as "liberals," "left-wing liberals," "civil libertarians," "democratic socialists," "egalitarians," or "anarcho-socialists."

Zach De La Rocah!!:goodjob: (he is one of my political idol figures etc etc)
anarcho-socialist would be me, I think...I usually just go for 'idealistic communist' but what the hell:cool:

Hey knowltok! I knew there was something I liked about you. :D

My results were identical to yours.

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 70%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 50%.

Slightly Left Libertarian on the second.

If you ever construct a more in-depth / unbiased test, I would love to see it! I agree these were umm... lacking?
