Since we know, at this point, which civs are in and not in Rise and Fall, I thought it might be nice to show, loudly, to Firaxis that DLC is something that we, as the loud, obnoxious vocal minority, really, really want.

So I'm including a list of some of the bigger ones I've seen bandied about, along with some generic options (if you use a generic option, please include a post detailing WHAT your proposed DLC would be!)

(You may select ALL of the DLC you would be willing to buy!)
(Keep in mind, some of these will certainly be civs for the 2nd expansion)

(Poll closes on R+F release day!)

I went with West African, Renaissance Italy, and Ottomans/Byzantines.
I would prefer Benin over Ghana though? Do you mean the empire or the current country/Ashanti?

You define it and post what you like. This is meant to be a discussion thread. Since well, Firaxis took all the fun out of it by having it leak.

Now we just need someone to leak that the art team is definitely working on post-R+F dlc so we can begin the speculation.

I still doubt we will see any more DLC.

The Ottomans and Byzantines would make a good pack though, and I would happily pay for Mali.

A quad-pack like you suggest for the New World is a very unlikely prospect, but the New World scenarios were fun in Civ V.

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want:
an Ottoman/Byzantium double feature!

I decided to add a map pack as well: specifically an Ancient/Classical Mediterranean World Map and a TSL version. Doesn't have to come with a particular Civ.

I think the Conquest of the New World pack you outline is highly unlikely. Too many civs involved. I think it would more likely be:

  • Inca civ
  • Spanish alt leader Isabella
  • Machu Picchu wonder
  • Rock of Gibraltar natural wonder
  • Terra map script
  • Conquest of the New World scenario

The Maya and Portugal would then slot into the 2nd expansion.

I'd like to see a Māori + Hawaii DLC, with Polynesian city-states such as Hanga Roa (with Moai suzerain bonus) and Nukuʻalofa. That's #1 on my wishlist.

I've gone back and forth a few times on the "New World" pack, because a full new world back with 3 civs, a new leader, a scenario, and map script would be a double-sized dlc pack and might be pricey, but then my marketing brain kicks in and makes me wonder if they might do the first one as the first one while excitement is high and people are still excited at the higher price, then when the 2nd dlc comes out at a LOWER PRICE it looks like a great deal, even if it's just back to the same price the old dlcs were at.

I think an Inca/Musica double pack (Huanya Cupac/Nemequene) would be kinda cool, instead of the Isabella alt leader, or maybe in addition to it?

I'd love to see the Maori (Te Rauparaha) and Illyria (Teuta), though they both may be better suited for an Xpac.

I really don't love new leaders, being only a third of a civ at similar cost to produce, but I especially don't want Isabella. If we go for another there are many more worthy options for an additional leader: Egypt (ancient leader this time), China, Rome, France, etc.

What if I want to voice that I would like them to include all the remaining obvious civs in the next expansion and not milk us with cheesy DLC strategies? :nono:

Hmm. Probably don't vote. I should have included I "I will not buy DLCs" option. Sorry.

I think this is premature... we do NOT know about the last civ yet... everyone seems to think Mapuche has been confirmed, but it hasn't !!!

Given that the number of obvious civs is greater than the number one would expect from an expansion, that's not really a satisfying option for many. And this ignores that Firaxis tends to want to add new civs in expansions, as well.

I got all the DLC civs, actually:mischief: But bluntly shoving the crowd’s favorites into DLCs is a cheap marketing move that’s way too obvious not to point out.

Or have we forgotten that sense of pride and accomplishment of obtaining your favorite civs?:crazyeye:

That was going to be my answer. Unless we get 3 expansions.
