Figure since the war is over, i'd create a thread to talk about things that happen in Post-war Iraq.

Breaking News is that Tariq Aziz the ex-Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq is in US Custody, they're saying he turned himself in.

Anyone care to guess which country Saddam has jetted off to with that 25 billion?

most likely syria. If those fools dont turn him over, noone can be held responsible for what happens to them.

Maybe we can take hostages at the Syrian embassy just like our good friend Ayatollah .

Saddam out of government holds no threat to anyone in any form; it would be stupid to start a war over him.

Saddam is still a threat if he has 25 billion like curt said above. That would be enough money to fund plenty of terrorist attacks and the country and the people that kicked him out of power

25 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount spent on security measures against such threats. EDIT: Furthermore, if I were Saddam Hussein, I'd be perfectly happy in a mansion in Damascus as opposed to sending some Anthrax in the mail.

So you think saddam holds no grudge with us if he even alive?

I know how much we spend on security, but that really doesn't matter. The fact is 25 billion could buy some nice terrorist weapons. Anyone know how much a nuke goes for these days? :p

I believe it's more than 25 billion :p.

I'll bet you that the terrorist circles in Saudi Arabia carry a lot more than 25 billion.

toasty, I dont know what your thinking. Saddam, if alive, is doing nothing but fuming over what america did to him. He is probably thinking of nothing else then striking back at them, in ANY way possible.

All we can do is speculate--we don't even know if he is alive or not. However, if you believe that, then we ought to be invading every country ending in "stan" in the hunt for Bin Laden--he is for more popular than Saddam Hussein in any eye, and I don't know if Saddam did make off with 25 billion.

What you talking about? Russian nukes are going for knock-down prices. Everything must go!

I hear the south of France is lovely this time of year and concidentally French visas are very easy to get in Syria at the moment.

Yeah, but won't he quickly work out the pattern and move to a non-stan country? Or maybe he will do a double-bluff and go back to Afghanistan. However he might just want us to think he would do a double-bluff and really he will just stay in Pakistan. Or he could think that we could think that he could think that we would think...[five minutes]...that we could think that he would think that Disneyland makes a nice holiday destinition...I think I got a little confused.

Yes i have heard that on the black market stolen i mean missing russian nukes can be bought for like 25 million or something.

I saw yesterday on CNN an interesting poll.

"Do you think that the anti-war side was right or wrong?"

65% of responses said right and although I don't believe that CNN polls are completely scientific (and the question is somewhat vague) this result confused me.

I had always believed that Americans overwhelmingly supported the war now that it's over and things went "fairly well".

Any ideas?

American public opinion consistently jumps to conclusions. The lack of appearance of any WMD has been plastered all over the news, and people are quick to doubt the President.

Besides, I'm sure that 50% of them are just dying to catch GW with his pants down anyways :p.

Yeah but I thought the general opinion was "Who cares about WMD.. we have liberated the Iraqi people!"

Yes, that's the feeling I get on the forums. Not around here though...I'm fortunate enough to live in a very liberal area. Ironically, the rest of my family is one of the few Conservative Christian lines remaining :crazyeye:...

Well, the question of if the anti-war crowd was right alludes to whether or not they were right or wrong about WMD, not about the liberation of the Iraqi people.
