I'll probably get flamed for this thread but I thought it'd be fun.
Remember, it's 5 syllables then 7 then 5 again. I'll get it started with two of my own.

"Just One More Turn"

ONE CIV LEFT TO KILL

OH GOD TELL ME THAT CLOCK'S WRONG

LATE FOR WORK AGAIN

"Ode to a Gallic Swordsman"

HAIR LIKE CELTIC FIRE

DEATH IS WEARING CHECKERED PANTS

PILLAGE THE PUB FIRST

 Looking forward to your contributions!

haiku?...clarify

Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry. It should consist of a 17 syallable verse structured as outlined above, but I've seen Haiku that breaks this rule.

Yeah! Another poetry thread!
Ok, I'll try:

Tank treads in the grass
Stretching like a trampled road
Paved with Xerxes' blood

Iroquois horseman
Climb this scenic mountain square
Stacked with my Riders

This is true. In actuality, the 5/7/5 syllabic structure is an English invention, and doesn't really apply to the original Japanese structure at all. Traditionally, the haiku is typically seasonlly based (i.e. summer haikus, winter haikus, etc...), just in case you were interested.

Another one:

Eleven hours
Last foe dies, the sun rises
Oh man, my ass hurts

Actually, it is interesting. The 17-syllable verse rule is not a universal. It varies from language to language. In German, for example, because it tends to be top-heavy with polysyllabic compounds, Haiku often takes a slighty different form.

I'm Canadian
but ya'll sounds way to funny
so I used the word

(I'm gonna quit torturing everyone with 10 second of thought into a haiku, and actually go play civ 3 now...)

Of course! A Canadian uttering the word "Y'all" would sound funny.

Example sentences:

1.) "Aye, y'all going to watch the hockey game tonight?" (The words "y'all" and "hockey" should never be used in the same sentence together)

2.) "Y'all going hunting in Saskatchewan, aye?

3.) "Aye, if Guns N' Roses doesn't perform tonight, I'm gonna riot, y'all"

The problem here is that "aye" and "y'all" just don't seem to get along with each other in a sentence.
