I think that would be me from the Grigori, although if orange pays up you Al's-Sidars will soon over-take me.
I think I will have lots of different awards, each with a minimum threshold that will probably increase over time. So for example, there could be an award for the best city, calculated by how much gold's worth of stuff they have in them, and if there wasn't a city worth at least say 80Gold there'd be no award. The next time that award is given the threshold would stay at 80 as it had not been won last time, but the next time it cousld rise to 140, for example.
Possibly, depending on the number of awards given, I'd use an RNG to cut down on the awards given that turn to preserve balance and to keep things fresh and interesting. However, some awards that relate to key aspects of the game, the main one being ''Most Inventive'' (Coming up with the most approved ideas for buildings, discoveries etc etc etc during that period of time. These would then have to be discovered and/or built to verify the idea). This will be a very important award with one of the best bonuses.
I think an awards system gives you something to aim at, and maybe an incentive to try something different that other players aren't really focusing on.
