Pre-turn discussion

Move it one tile west and settle the city.

Any name picked out for this city yet? I've got a good one... Midnight Tavern.

One tile west gets us three bananas and all four silks within the (eventual) city borders. I like that.

Haven't thought of a name other than Fort something or other. How about Fort Midnight Tavern? :D

i agree with Strider, move one tile west and settle there. now, about the name, i think we should dub our new city greekguy's Silk Cottage. ;) ...ok, ok, i was kidding, so how about Midnight Silk Tavern?

Sounds kind of weird, how about "Mezzanotte Keep?" We already have a fort, so we really don't have any need of another one.

We can build a keep, then a tavern, pub, barracks, castle, etc.

Striders suggestion seems the best one and i like greekguys 'midnight silk tavern' ties in with the whole silks being nearby thing :)

Just played turn 109. Wanted to know if you all thought it was a good idea to rush the library in Furbomb next turn. Would take about half our gold. We have 315g now and might make another 25g from the Anasazi camp if TimBentley is successful. We've got lux at 10% and can grow our cities a little but the furs would help. Need to connect up those silks, too!

EDIT: it was turn 108 I jad just played.

All I can say is rush it... the sooner the better.

Also, I think it might be time to get a few more workers. We've got ALOT of jungle were going to have to slice through soon. Wouldn't it be nice to beable to do it faster?

Yes, workers are a priority. Trying to figure out if we can turn one of our cities into a worker factory. Trying to ensure we get more pikes made though. We're half way through our peace treaty and the Iroqi still have a few MWs left over from the late war.

I've been spending so much time in the [civ4] DG that I missed your suggestions for the silk city name. Sorry!

Rush the library now! the quicker we get furs, the better. :) also, i like Strider's suggestion, Mezzanotte Keep, as well. we should name our new jungle city Mezzanotte Keep.

I already named it Fort Midnight Tavern because I didn't see the other suggestions. Should we change the name?

I agree with rushing the library now. That's three of us in favor of doing so. Is anyone opposed?

Can I claim I'm bi-polar and oppose it?

Wow... now that I think of it, it would be interesting if we had a bi-polar person in the demogame.

i really think we should change the name. from what i can tell 3 people in this thread support Mezzanotte Keep: me, BCLG100, and Strider.

well i like the midnight silk tavern or whatever but im not really that bothered :) but yer rush the library

I think were irrigating far too much as well, the cities are growing nicely and so should only be irrigated if need be, whereas production is always in need :)

Ok, the library will be rushed.

How about we change Fort Midnight Tavern to Mezzanotte Keep and use Midnight Tavern somewhere else? I want to make a city to get the wines and since we'll have to settle it on a banana tile we can call it Midnight Tavern or Fruitbomb or New Dancing Banana. Might need a poll on that one. In any event we can use Midnight Tavern somewhere. Pick a spot guys - we need more cities anyway!

Been irrigating the floodplains so we can get our population up there. There seem to be a good mix of forest and floodplains which will boost our production as we grow. Having cities versus towns also decreases our unti support costs. Also looking for places to churn out workers and settlers. Will not forego mining but we still need to build a road through the jungle to the silks. Also want to irrigate the southwestern plains so fresh water can be brought to Fort Incendiary.

A proposal from the Galls:

I plan on using as much of our 24 hours as possible to give the Greeks time to decide on accepting our proposed changes to GLiGA. In the mean time do we want to buy ivory from the Galls? Perhaps they will take gems for ivory? What do you all think?

How much of a problem is happyness for us?

If it isn't all that much of problem right now than shouldn't we be trying to increase our worker force through trading it to MIA?

We currently have the lux setting at 10% to keep Dancing Banana from rioting. We do have the chance to hook up two more of our own luxuries (silks and wines) but that'll take some time. If we want our core cities to grow beyond size 8 (without a market) then we'll need more luxes. I did send a message off to the Galls asking if they wanted to trade ivory for gems. I told them that if they threw in a worker we'd take the deal. I thought that would open the possibility of us discussing a gems for workers deal.
