John Titor is a liar.
I remember when my speculation on this became sealed when he revealed his ignorance on military matters. He said he joined a shotgun squad when war broke out. That is so idiotic. Shotguns excel in close quarters combat, the majority of warfare is long and medium range where military rifles dominate. Why the hell would there ever be a prevalence of militias who defend the U.S. using primarily shotguns. You might have a shotgun or two sprinkled in a squad for specific combat situations but otherwise the rifle is the mainstay with a few specialists like anti-armor or grenadiers. There is no way that the war Titor predicted for 2005 is going to occur, he is a liar.

I dunno Marine Corps, in the Army, guys I work with, I can see some of them pledging their allegiance to a beloved officer who pledges "Reforms to the nation that will solve security" over the Constitution. Something like Seven Days in May is perfectly plausible in a less stable time of our nation.
Even in Urban scenario's you would only want a few shotguns, not an entire squad with them, they would have their asses handed to them if the fight ever occured from 100 yards away and on.

Anyway, back to the topic, i dont think there will be a civil war anytime soon in america. Its doing well. its the world strongest military and economy, the ppl are contend even if half claimed they dont like the president. He will be gone in 3 more years.
To keep the country unite, an imaginary enemy must be there and China/russia and even EU fits the bill, so i can safely say there wont be a civil war in US anytime sooner.
