I think this probably confirms Germany/Prussia over Britain. No way they'd release Britain without a British leader.Nook's preview seems to have spoiled the missing leaders. Frederick and Himiko will have 2 personas and the missing leader is José Rizal
Ursa as wellMarbozir's one is out.
. . . I can nerd out about this, though I'll wait for the first look and info dump thereAbsolutely love the choice of Jose Rizal, gotta learn everything about him.
one of the Frederick personas shows "unlocks Prussia". It's over for Britain.I think this probably confirms Germany/Prussia over Britain. No way they'd release Britain without a British leader.
I'm interested! I also think about finding Noli me tangere now, maybe I'll manage to read it before release. I love this choice, I was really hoping for someone at least art-adjacent.. . . I can nerd out about this, though I'll wait for the first look and info dump there
I remember having to read Noli and the sequel El Filibusterismo for high school. I might re read them cuz of this.I'm interested! I also think about finding Noli me tangere now, maybe I'll manage to read it before release. I love this choice, I was really hoping for someone at least art-adjacent.
I'm honestly shocked. Both by the news and by how it was delivered.one of the Frederick personas shows "unlocks Prussia". It's over for Britain.
I'm completely overstimulated right now. Who do I watch first?

Firaxis has rejected the offer of "a trade agreement with England".one of the Frederick personas shows "unlocks Prussia". It's over for Britain.
I take this as either good news or bad news for planned DLC civs from SEA. With the amount of European, Middle East, central Asia and South American civs people are clamoring for I'm going to guess it's bad news and these leaders will be stand ins for these civs.Interesting that we have two southeast Asian leaders at launch, and three civs, but none of the leaders are related to the civs!
No, Britain was never quite mentioned the same way as e.g. Mughals or France. No ingame icon, no nothing. Ed Beach was talking about design principles, not the base game civ roster. Just like he did when he talked about having Japan in all three ages. If one listened closely, one could make an accurate prediction of all civs back then alreadyI'm honestly shocked. Both by the news and by how it was delivered.
I think it's more about splitting up a civ between modern and exploration. Prussia not vs. modern Germany but vs. Medieval Germany. Same with France, a "French Republic" civ in a 4th age would be weird because one might not pick a republican government form. But it might as well just be there to distinguish against a medieval "French Kingdom" civ.Side note: including "Prussia," but not "Germany" points enthusiastically to a future fourth age.
But then England likely expend all their influence to force the agreement a few turns later (Britain being in crossroads dlc pack on march most likely)Firaxis has rejected the offer of "a trade agreement with England".

If a 4th age were to be set up, then America and Mexico would've gotten a different name. It's only civs who might appear in an *earlier* age at some point who get a name that's not identical with a modern nation state. Those who don't just have the name of their nation state.
I mean, that was Firaxis' intent. One Youtuber just messed up and moused over one of the Frederick portraits while going through the list. He even said he has to skip those when he skipped the other one, but accidentally went over the other persona for a second.I think they mean they were shocked at how the news of no Britain was delivered - via snooping about in youtuber videos, rather than some grand anticipated Germany vs Britain final reveal.
Yes. Not only no Britain, but the announcement of the remaining leaders and civs. Kind of kills the anticipation game.I think they mean they were shocked at how the news of no Britain was delivered - via snooping about in youtuber videos, rather than some grand anticipated Germany vs Britain final reveal.
It's less than a month till release. And compared to previous leaks it's not that terrible (and much more controllable).Yes. Not only no Britain, but the announcement of the remaining leaders and civs. Kind of kills the anticipation game.
