What do you think is the prettiest country in terms of natural beauty?

By natural beauty I mean geographical landscape. The only forms of life that are to be included are those from kingdoms plantae (or maybe fungi if there's some stupid fungi out there that is plentiful enough to figure into the country's general beauty).

Salzburg really was like that when I was there. Fields of beautiful flowers with a mountain background.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!

Haha pics from Dr. Zhivago. Was that filmed in Russia?

I like Russia, but its too big. Big places ultimately have lots of ugly in them that detract from an overall beauty score. I think maybe new zealand or switzerland would get my vote.

I love Canada myself, though I'm a touch biased. Here you can go from open Prairie skies (admittedly average to most) to Mountain Vistas, into rain forests, and finally to the Pacific in about 14 hours drive.

Beyond that, I've always admired pictures of Northern Russia, as well as New Zealand, and Madeira.

Yeah, USA #1.

Having driven through the middle and visited most parts of it; Australia, obviously.

Australia can be pretty pretty, although it's mostly just a whole lot of sand and dirt, with a few niceties. I'm gonna say Canada.

The Netherlands easily.

Seriously, the USA. But they're cheating, they're a continent.

1. Australia: from the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland rainforst, the Kinberlys, Victoria Desert, Tasmania, etc; the country is just unbeliavably "virgin" and beautiful.
2. Argentina
3. New Zealand

The US are alwo awsome, the only problem is that they too much "inhabited" and many places have been changed by man. Russia must also be awsome, never been thare though.

See, there you all go making me doubt my decision again. Seems the prettiest country changes every 3 minutes for me.
