Prettiest Country

I've never visited USA, so I can't say for sure... altough the pictures look nice :)

My favourites in beauty of the countries I've seen are
1. Scotland
2. Finland
3. Norway

Iceland, but that's the kinda place I love.

I can't believe nobody's brought up New Zealand yet - it's a small country but is supposed to be incrediby beautiful. Has nobody here seen Lord of the Rings? ;)

Out of all the places I've visited, I am going to have to vote Chile, though. I'm sure some of you are already sick of me talking about my trip there ;) However, the remote southern parts of it (southern Patagonia) are breathtaking. Here's some pictures (not mine)

These pictures don't really do it justice - but I'm busy at work and can't really spare the time to find anything better.

The area is littered with parks - one of them - torres del paine national park - has been voted as one of the most beautiful and must see places on earth, by various magazines/organizations.

Chile also has desert-like northern regions, as well as "stuff in between" ;)

IMO Chile, the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, China, and Thailand, should be the only countries for contention here.

Uruguay for me.

Pakistan looks like a dinosaur, and some dinosaurs are pretty.

China is definetely the most beutifull.... More diverse landscapes than even the US and so many strange alien landscapes wich are the ones that usually take the breath out of me. And remember we are not counting man-made things :p

Of the ones I've been to: Austria, Italy, Greece, it's really hard to decide between those.

I've been to the US, but unfortunately only to big cities. I REALLY want to see Brazil and... well most of South America. What I've seen in photos seems absolutely breathtaking.

Although I must say that as far as diversity and wide range of beauty – Ecuador wins:

Haha pics from Dr. Zhivago. Was that filmed in Russia?

I would be surprised if it was, since the book was banned for a while.

Yep, I checked wikipedia's article on the movie:

Since the book was banned in the Soviet Union, the movie was filmed largely in Spain over ten months,[1] with the entire Moscow set being built from scratch outside of Madrid. Most of the scenes covering Zhivago and Lara's service in World War I were filmed in Soria, as was the Varykino estate. Due to uncooperative weather in Spain, some of the winter sequences were filmed in Finland, mostly landscape scenes, and Yuri's escape from the Partisans. Winter scenes of the family travelling to Yuriatin by rail were filmed in Canada.

I like Russia, but its too big. Big places ultimately have lots of ugly in them that detract from an overall beauty score. I think maybe new zealand or switzerland would get my vote.

That's a very good point. And both your alternatives are excellent candidates.

Behold, the Matterhorn!

Yeah. Matterhorn. I've seen it. But yes, Switzerland is great. Not many ugly things in that country.
