Look my up my Captian, pretty nice Privateer/Pirate :p

okay so here is a final question for you guys before I really start to get this game going. Do you want a little bit of mythology mixed in with mythical people like you may have seen in the movies or just keep it straight up. I think having the occasional story surfacing of a ghost ship on the horizon may make for some good stories.

I dont mind, I would like to capture a ghost ship. :p

I don't think any of us should be historically legendary captains (perhaps lesser known ones) but they should definetely be involved.

And a little time appropriate mysticism is ok.

But I don't like this other English captain's competition :p

Heh, 7 Privateers, 4 Pirates and 2 Merchants thus far. More dogs than cats than mice. ;)

Won't promise to join once it goes live for real, but I'm certainly interested. It mostly depends on how involved orders you'll be expecting.

I will explain a little of how I want orders when the game goes live. I can promise however that they will not require hours of planning. Also stories will grant bonuses should I feel like they deserve them.

Looks cool! I would like to join. Feeling very nostalgic about sid meiers pirates! I know you said this isnt based on those games, but the map and stats bring back good memories (and i think i might have had a past life in this era :hmm:).

BTW why is everyone posting stats? I wont post stats until you say how many points we can actually have! Or am i missing something?

@Daft Each profession has a different starting skill set but when we start you will get to place an extra 15 or so wherever you want to customize your person. And after all this talk about this game I may have to check it out.

@Bananalee Just dont feel bad if it crashes in a blaze of molten magma/lava.

And why is that?

Mainly the concepts that Pirates are outlaws, notoriety actually has a negative effect on Pirates, that they have to avoid most legitimate ports and the militaries of all the nations rather than just some or most, etc. It'll be fun, but it does seem a tad unbalanced atm. Idk, I'll look over it and see if I've got the wrong idea...

Some mythology is good, but don't let it get too far, and I wouldn't recommend letting any of the mythology be at the mercy of the players as far as creation or control. Unless you yourself keep a tight leash, it will probably spin out of control.

ok well ill join the crowd :)
