The NES is set to start on my birthday - a present from me to all of you, so to speak.
germanicus, having played in Stormy's 1919 NES (however briefly) and noted your fairly capable handling of the UK in that game (although it didn't act as I personally as a private citizen would have wanted, it didn't act poorly either), I would normally allow you to play (if it were on grounds of competence alone), but unfortunately Thlayli expressed interest a few months back and he did contribute in some ways to the shaping of the actual scenario, so I'm afraid he has a better claim than you do. Of course, there is a Presidential election in two years...
I have noted the relative disparities of certain nations' economies, but wish to point out the relatively feudal and undeveloped Hungarian economy as compared with the rapidly modernizing Bulgarians; while agriculture does have a strength all its own, the more modern state of the Bulgarian economy is more productive than the backwards Hungarians. Eco centers are "weird" on purpose; not all of them have an output of 1 (should Hamburg or London really be on the level of, say, Aden?).
Nobody has taken Russia, unless flyingchicken is going to do so (Dis, if you'd rather, your AH Thread contributions would probably put you in line for it). Reservations of Serbia (Toltec), USA (Thlayli), Brazil (silver), Spain (Shadowbound), Sweden-Norway (Jason), Greece (LittleBoots!), Canada (j_eps), Denmark (e350tb), and France (a propagandist) are noted. Supermath, if you want to play (and I do encourage it; look through the Guide and peek through a few older games first) you should probably reserve a nation; a few nice South American states are still extant, like Argentina or Peru, as are Bulgaria, the Turks, the Dutch, and Persia.
Think of Hungary as sort of like OTL A-H, but without the highly industrialized western regions, a slightly more unified foreign policy, a much less federal or even libertarian system of government and no real enemies. What would be the point in the Hungarian magnates industrializing that much - what little they did do has been the seed for some Marxism. Besides, the Budapest and Zara ECs are supposed to signify a limited amount of industrialization in those two cities (although the Zara one is more for trade). That doesn't even make sense; how on earth would the rest of eastern Europe develop faster than one with, supposedly, diplomatic clout? If anything, it would be leeching off the German technological might, and be leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of its region.

EDIT: Kal'thzar, huh? That doesn't make much sense.
All right; the Hungarian base eco will be adjusted higher. WRT the pathetic countries: there is a lower limit. I made a very quick and dirty attempt to keep nations from having too much money but at the same time have vaguely realistic amounts of cash at their disposal, and apparently it's not worked out terribly well.
The army. The rest of it seems fine, excepting Bulgaria's power. I really don't see how its so feared when it's so tiny and undeveloped.
The army.
On the Balkan-wide scale, it is pretty impressive; it has the economy brute strength of Greece without the naval commitments, and outmatches Serbia entirely.

Maybe add a economic capacity stat? so for japan it will be near full to reflect their efficiency?
