What in the heck is going on with the forums this week???
Every day they have been down for several hours with SQL errors. I sure hope they get this fixed soon. Maybe they should have used Oracle. ;)

Maybe Jeff Bridges? (Head Honcho of Firaxis).

Oh well, they're back now!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I think the civ3 gods were responding to my modship ;)

Seriosly somebody needs to get to the bottom of all of this

It sound like Telefragged is one of the most unprofessional ISPs around. If they claim they can't do a simple "reboot" because the only human being in their company that can perform it is "out of town" on a Thrusday, then they simply don't need to be in business (IHMO, of course). That is insane. I presume TF puts up with it because of financial reasons, otherwise I'd dump them if I were in his shoes.

:hammer:

Financial reasons being free server...yep, that's the ticket. :)

That excuse did seem pretty lame to me also....they probably didn't have the password to that server or it was a Windows Server and all the other admins are Linux/UNIX guys...or vice versa. :D

But still pretty sloppy, like star said.

Well, Telefragged is not an ISP, it's just a gaming network created by a few individuals. Normally 3 Telefragged admins can reboot the servers. But for rare occasions when servers are down completely (i.e. remote reboot doesn't work), only one of them can reboot the servers. They usually respond to forum technical problems pretty quickly... :scan:

Ahhhhhh..... so if they're not a formal provider (e.g., one that is in business to sell service, server space, etc., then I won't hold them to such high standards. If it's just a group of people, then there will be certain issues that can't be compared fairly to a full-expense server/ISP.

It sounds like only one person is physically able to access the server (the box). I assume it's geographic, but it's sure nice to have someone else that can reach the box to reboot, or whatever is needed. :)
