Production Queue 0.1.17

Issue with hotseat games - perhaps because there's two local players, the changes made by one player make changes to the other player's queue. That one took a while to figure out!
 
@silentscience That is certainly not supposed to happen. It should be handling research properly. Could you provide me a save of just before this occurs?

@Gav Earlier in this thread someone else reported that, and I had to break the bad news that hotseat isn't supported. Frankly, it was an oversight on my part. When I got started with Production Queue I quickly made a proof of concept and it snowballed from there assuming there is only one local player. I really want to update it to support hotseat. It's really straightforward but time-consuming. When I get that time, I will definitely work on adding hotseat support. Thanks for your interest!

Thank you a million times for this mod Lozenged! With the introduction of the district system i would've thought this to be unmoddable! I'm in awe!

I was wondering if you might be interested in addressing a related issue: making the collapsible production menu categories persistent.

It's a huge annoyance, specially late-game when the production list is cluttered with so many units and buildings and there's so many cities to manage. And it behaves terribly. You collapse Units to reach the Projects category faster, click a project and the unit category de-collapses instantly. You hit space to jump to next city production and have to scroll all the way up again to check if there's any districts available, then collapse Units again, rinse and repeat.... After a few hundred turns of this it becomes a form of torture :(

Do you think this is something easily moddable and worth bundling with Production Queue?

Hmm, well the collapsing is supposed to persist within a single city's menu. So in your example of collapsing Units to reach Projects then clicking a project and the category unfolds again, that's not supposed to happen. I will certainly look into that to see why that's happening.

Initially I figured I would only have the collapsed categories persist within a single city's session (i.e. if you close it and reopen it or move to the next turn, it will re-expand everything). My thought process was to avoid inadvertently hiding a newly researched item. Also, it's the default behavior, and changing anything might not be a desirable feature for some players. That said, you have definitely made it evident how maintaining the collapsed state of the groups across cities and turns could be useful. I wouldn't want to upset anyone who prefers the current behavior, though, so I would definitely make it optional. This really is simple to implement so it is something you should be seeing pretty soon.

Hey, don't worry about it. Based on the number of bugs in it, hotseat mode doesn't seem to be supported by Firaxis either!..
 
This might be connected to the addon or not, but I have the Moar Units Mod installed, and when I researched the tech for Tanks, my production queue for Cuirassier (German replacement for Cavalry) somehow bugged out in some cities. See the attached screenshot, the queue for Heidelberg says there are Panzers now (German replacement for Tanks), however the icon in the city bar says that nothing is currently produced. It also doesn't immediately open the production overlay when clicking the icon, I needed several clicks for whatever reason.
To make this work again, I need to remove every Panzer from the list (can't remove the last entry, so first have to insert something else in the queue, and then delete the Panzer entry) and add them again.

Note that this also happened for other cities (Mainz, which I've already corrected in the screenshot, and Köln, which is not yet corrected). However for other cities, the switch to the upgraded unit worked fine (e.g. Trier and Aachen).

This might actually be connected to the fact that the cities were it bugged out just had constructed a Cuirassier/Panzer on this very turn where the upgrade tech was reasearched. The other two cities were still in the middle of production.

Yes. Are you having problems?

Yeah. I installed the mod by following the instrutions, and I tried testing it earlier with one of my finished games but the production queue (which from what I understand appears at the left of the production panel) doesn't appear. I was hoping that if I left-click a new item from the production panel the queue would appear, but it didn't work.

You can't add a new mod to an old save. You have to start a new game.

In the early stages of the game, if you have lots of cities and have produced all the things before, you have to reselect projects for cities every turn. Can you add something like a checkbox that will make that item to be produced again and again, without asking for that city anymore?
 
this has ctd me a few times a few at random between turns and once when i tried to load a save.
 
Hi, how can I change the key binds ? ctrl-left-click and middle-click not going well on my setup (mac)
 
Haven't seen a mention of this (could be because I'm on mobile and it's more difficult to navigate) but when playing hotseat my queue shows up on my wife's menu on her turn as well. We already disabled it to start a new game, but I'll mess with it later and get screenshots and stuff. Awesome mod, thanks for making it!
