Say the following to yourself:

"It's ours." (fast)

"It's OURS." (slower, emphasized)

Do you say "arz" or "owerz"? Include your dialect of English if possible.

I, with midwestern US English, would probably say "arz" for the first, but for the second I can't decide if I would say "arz" or "owerz." Both sound natural.

Both for both. It depends who I am talking to. I really don't know how or why I use both, but I do.

Well, my w is passed over quickly and it's easy to mistake it for arz, but there is an effort in there to pronounce it with two syllables.

I was just kidding. West-coasters are very clear in their pronunciation from what I've seen. I speak a flat-out "arrz" if it's fast.

'ours' as in 'towers'.

As far as I can tell, I picked up my English from American TV. :dunno:

First arz, then owerz, I've got the midwestern accent :D

"Arz." Definitely. Though I don't particularly care what others say, and maybe sometimes I might even say this another way, but I think I'm really more like to say "arz" As in

THIS IS ARR HOUSE.

Tangential note: Rather than common words, it always seems to happen to me that I think a name is pronounced one way, never think of it another way, until someone else comes along and corrects me; and often, this is even the official way! This of course is mostly with regards to books/similar media; in fact I was just thinking about this recently with a webcomic I regularly read - it just seems weird to imagine folks pronouncing a character's name other than the way I read it, even if it's the author!

Do you pronounce towers as "tars" or "towh-urs"?

 Although I could certainly see people/some accents saying "tahwahs".
