Questions About Adam and Eve

How do you know for sure he didn't take a wife? I suspect you are correct, of course, but I don't recall The Bible actually stating categorically anywhere that he did not take a wife. It just never mentions him doing so.
If he didn't take a wife, that would have set him apart socially from the rest of his peers, since it was expected that he would have been married long before starting his ministry.

If he did take a wife, he would have been a hypocrite, since he told his male followers to leave their wives behind and follow him.

That grave is possibly submersed in the hellhole known as Atlantis.
Considering Atlantis is likely the civilization that got destroyed as a result of a major volcanic eruption of one of the Greek islands, that would be a pretty neat trick... :mischief:

I've studied classical history, physical geography, I'm atheist, and have no patience for "ancient gods/aliens" crap.

So you know what Plato said, you know where the oceans are, and you aren't distracted by alien/god explanations, so you search for natural ones. Maybe you could try the end of the Pleistocene.

God didn't kick them out for disobedience

God kicked them out so they couldn't partake of the tree of life and live forever

How did they get to know good an evil? By obeying God or not?

Adam and Eve is merely an allegory for the creation of private property as also described by Rousseau.
I'll bite.

Or will I?

Isn't the story of Cain and Abel just an allegory for the conflict over land use between pastoralism and agriculture?

It's not even that. It's that, and everything else you could possibly think of thrown into the kitchen sink.

But wait, why was the Tree of Knowledge (I'd personally go with fly agaric, but that's just a guess, of course, and it probably wasn't - wrong part of the globe for one thing) in the Garden of Eden in the first place, eh?

(It could have been Datura or the thorn apple, no? Not just an ordinary apple tree, now was it? Be reasonable. Apple trees have to be grafted on to root stock, and that didn't come in till the Romans.)

Can I just take this opportunity to post one of the best game intros ever?
Alpha Centauri had excellent flavor texts, both from historical sources and speculative fiction. And really good voice acting. This game really deserves more credit than it usually gets.

(And I need to find my old copy ...)

Humans are not perfect, neither can they come to agreement on even what perfection is.
I'll admit it, I kinda like humans anyways.
