Questions about Brave New World that don't deserve their own thread.

Are leader titles going to change based on the new ideological format? For instance, if I choose Autocracy will I still be called "the Terrible"?

Just a random "question/observation".
In this image, it says your "Nau was bombarded by an enemy Battleship".
If it was indeed a barbarian Battleship, wouldn't it be phrased "it was bombarded by a barbarian Battleship" (instead of "enemy Battleship")?

I've been away from civ enough time to forget little things like that, so I might be mistaken

PS: All the axeman/Battleship/and unique playstyle civ left me wondering if there's a red and black civilization with unique interaction with barbarians, so I must say I'm probably biased by that on my observations.

No, it says enemy, even when it is barbarian.

When are we going to have all the information about BNW available to us? Building the hype is nice and all but it would also be nice to have a complete description of the game ahead of time so we can make a practical decision as to whether we want to actually buy it or not. What's the typical trend with regard to complete info releases when it comes to civ/pc games?

The last few times they've released a PDF version of the manual about a week or so ahead of the release. This still won't answer all the questions -- you'll have to wait until after release for that -- and that comes from the fansites, not 2K or Firaxis.

When you say manual do you mean Civilopedia?

Hey Arioch!
A little unrelated here, but you missed Samarkand (mercantile, middle-blue) as a new city state from your Well of Souls page.
Maybe you could even add a new section near the new city states section, something like this:

City states changed from Gods and Kings:
Lisbon, Jakarta, Warsaw, Marrakesh, Rio de Janeiro, Venice were replaced, as they got on some of the new civs' city list
Kathmandu was changed from cultured to religious

EDIT:
You are also missing the Lake Victoria natural wonder
I remember some screenshots about it

Thanks AriochIV!:)

I have a couple of questions about the new guilds national wonders and how they might affect the hermitage.

First is do we know what if any building is required to build them? Amphitheatre seems to be the natural choice for Writer's guild being on the same tech and and musician's seem to likely to be opera houses but hermitage already occupies that slot? Will the both use opera houses? Do guilds use something else? Also what about artist's guild which building would that attach to? Can't be museum because that's after the tech for the guild.

On a side note why have they replaced theatre with zoo? Seems odd they'd spend time on replacing a building that isn't actually being used else where? Or are they?

Are there going to be any random events in the new world? Such as flooding and walls being able to prevent flooding in cities?

Are there going to be any random events in the new world? Such as flooding and walls being able to prevent flooding in cities?

That question was answered in today's Q&A.

Not like in Civ 4 per se. For Civ V we choose instead to have the various systems in the game create events based on the world’s state rather than anything purely random. The city state system is the best example of this, but there are also events related to unhappiness, espionage, and World Congress. However we did put a simple random events system in to the Civil War scenario (implemented in the Lua scripting language), so any modders who want to add their own random events can see one method of adding random events to Civ V.

Are mod tools going to be improved?

Does anyone know if Brazilian Wood Camps will be able to get the same bonus yields as TP's?

The yield is +2 gold with +2 culture at Acoustics. I do not believe that it gets the same increases as trading posts at Economics and with that Rationalism policy.

Why not? Overpowered much?

Why not? Overpowered much?

I can't speak for the Rationalism policy, but there doesn't seem to be an errant modifier at economics for Brazilwood Camps.

With regards to over-powered-ness. You won't see me throw that term around until release. That's not a judgement that a rational person can make given the information that we currently have. A certain new mechanic may be overpowered if it were placed in the G&K environment, but it may be perfectly balanced in the BNW environment, of which we know considerably less.
