Given the culture points from a Temple, why destroy it at all? Maintenance costs?
Thanks.Obviously...
Similarly, if you felt so inclined, and, had you built Granaries, and, should you intend to keep all your cities at size 12, you could well, shock, horror, destroy your Granaries when your cities get to full food on size 12, my God the things people think about! The Heresy!
Oh, and:
Themselves*
and
Don't*
There... is... zero... ZERO... ZERO... chance of you're city flipping because of such a move.
You nutter.
incredible. that guy who in the most primitive way corrects spelling mistakes of someone whose native language is not English cannot distinguish you´re and your.
btw, i would most appreciate if his inappropriate language and behaviour ("nutter", seriously???) would finally call the attention of a mod. it is not as if he ever had contributed *anything* useful in this forum up to my knowledge, it is all mere trolling.

Build Cathedral = 3 Culture
Knock down Temple = -4 Culture
I'm very sorry my friend, but it's quite obvious that justanick is the troll, inciting exasperation with his nonsense derails.
We were talking about whether superior buildings can function without their inferior, we were talking about how Wonders function.
justanick decided to derail the thread by providing a nonsense lecture on the benefits of Temples that had ceased being of use in a specific scenario which enabled me to provide experience on the topic of Wonders and inferior buildings.
The fact that you support the derail and even want to call in mods to help defend the derailer is yet another derail, only this time of epic proportions. You might not like me speaking in a patronising tone, my dear, but I can assure you I was responding in kind.
Is there any particular reason why you feel the need to continue this nonsense?
if that's the discussion, why do you feel the need to belittle someone or act like an insufferable prick?
What ideas do people have for using obsolete units? I mean ancient cavalry or stuff you don't have the money/resources to upgrade, say as you get towards the late Middle ages and after?
I only have two:
1 I use AC as 'spotters' when firing artillery at enemy cities. That is, they go adjacent and witness the carnage, and
2 as garrison units for recently-conquered towns/cities
Are there any better/other ideas?
A fringe scenario, at best.Sometimes it is necessary to protect... then kill, then rebuild road with captured workers![]()
Not so for me. Several times there have been two road tiles leading to my territory. Block one with an Army/many troops/etc and pillage the other. Enemy units leaving or trying to get to your territory usually stuck on the pillaged tile. Then hit by Army or units right there. Works every time for me.
