Is there a way to really destroy the American fleet at Pearl in the Pacific War conquest? I brought all my ships up to bombard Honolulu, which damaged many ships, and then I bombed it with all but one bomber (which I used to sink one of those submarines to the south). I think I only destroyed one battleship. On the other hand, I did destroy the harbor so no instant repairing. Would I have had more luck bombing first, and then bombarding? Or is it just not likely in game terms to damage almost every ship as in real history?

Is there a use for putting Artillery in an Army

No.
I don't think that Artillery can be put in an Army.

It wouldn't do you any good, units in an army lose bombard. Can planes be repaired on a carrier or do they need a city?

I also have an idea I wonder if you pros think would work for a bomber escort. A plane with a very low bombard rating but long operational range and a high defensive rating. Before bombing a city you would use the EF to bombard a nearby tile, triggering any air superiority fighters to engage it in a dogfight, either destroying the fighter or the EF but either way clearing the way for bombers (unless of course there were enough air superiority fighters to counter). As soon as I figure out how to import images from Conquests I will use the P-38 Lightning icon.

Is there a good reason for artillery to not be airliftable? It seems pretty illogical (tanks and mech inf but not artillery?), and it sure is annoying, does anyone think it's important to game balance?

Oh and Turner 727, if I'm reading your endnotes right, congratulations!

I have recently noticed that too. Glad to see someone else complaining.
And NO, it does not make sence I can Airlift a Tank but not a barrel.
The only thing u can do is to mod it in the editor. :suicide:

Sorry, but it sounded like you were chatting rather than answering questions.
Do anyone know how to use downloaded scenarios? Got an error that said something about a text file missing. Where should I put it?

EDIT: :wallbash: sorry! Saw the answer now................

sausnebb, make sure you d/l'ed all files, have the right patch level and stick to that scenario's install instructions. If it does not work (sounds like), Turner's advice is perfectly right. Especially if you d/l'ed the scenario from CFC, you will surely find the respective thread in the C&C subforum. If it's not from here, but possibly known, maybe start a thread like 'who plays scenario x and how does it work'.
And I think posting your question once will surely draw enough attention to it.:)

Hi people,

I don't believe that the aztec jaguar warriors have 1 attack value and 1 defence value. I cannot win the battle with middleage infantry, but they kill my middleage infantries and swordmen easily.

In the previos versions of civilization were also some units, that have much more defence than it was shown.

Well, the Civilopedia is pretty accurate where A/D/M values are concerned. And you can always confirm it by going to the editor. It could be a case of a streaky RNG, which does happen.

1. Can you airlift an army? Can you airlift an empty army? Can you airlift a GL?

2. What do you do with obsolete armies? For example, I took a city on another island simply for Leonardo's Workshop. I defended it well, but had no plans of expanding there. I received a GL during some counter-attacks, so I loaded some troops into it (three crusaders to be exact). Now I am in the age of modern armor and I have this crusader army running around.

3. Can you use captured workers to make radar towers?

Thanks

1. No, No, No

2. Keep it and attack weak & red-lined units or pillage.

3. Yes.

What do you do with obsolete armies?
I like the free pillaging they do. This could be useful. Also, is not a 18 hp, 6 attack unit as good as a 4 hp 24 attack? Perhaps not. Otherwise I would use them for quelling resistance.

Another possibility is to disband them when you really need an improvement. I think they give loads of sheilds, as they cost some 400 (?) to build.

[EDIT]
2. Keep it and attack weak & red-lined units
But surely they are for you to get elites / more armies?
[/EDIT]

huh?: You'll find the AI hates to attack healthy armies (even very obsolete ones), so you that crusader army makes a great escort for you artillery or your pillaging explorers. Since you've probably built the Military Academy & Pentagon by now, you be able to add another unit to the army, make it a good defender (Infantry/Mech Infantry) to add a little more protection for those weak units.

PS: Welcome to CFC

Stick the crusader army in newly captured cities (along with a strong defensive unit or two). Not only will it deter AI attack (although don't count on that, I've lost cities defended by healthy but offense oriented armies), but it will go far towards preventing culture flips and will try to suppress many resisters each turn.

why cant i build any of the space ship parts. i have all of the resorces I have researched everything possible (except future tech.) and have planted spies in all civilizations!! what else do i have to do?

If you build an Apollo Wonder and still cannot build SS parts check your mobilization status (F1). If it is turned onto "wartime mobilization" sign a peace treaty to be able to build peace-time structures (those include SSPs).

Does an industrious civ have any impact on captured workers?

If I am the Americans (industrious), and I capture a Celt worker (non-industrious), does that Celt worker work any faster since it is now an American unit and my workers are faster?

Yes, slaves will work faster than they would if you were not industrious.
