Quick Questions and Answers

Is there an updated Unit Promotion chart for Gods & Kings? not the unit upgrade path, but the unit promotions, because if I'm not mistaken, there have been some changes since the expansion came out

How many cities does the Great wall encompass? I know that It was downgraded from encircling the entire outer border, but how many cities it has inside seem to differ from game to game for me.

From what I've seen, the Great Wall seems to cover only a few cities. It still causes the movement penalty for all cities though.

I was playing a map and once I had it scouted out I decided to restart to the initial start.

My question is: How does this affect your score? Does your score get lowered because you restarted the same map?

Hello guys

if I chose more than one Victory conditions should I complete all of them or just one?

Don't confuse the graphic display of the Great Wall with its effects. As akashsara says, the GW's effects apply to all your cities, no matter how distant or separated they are. The GW you see on the map is just a pretty graphic.

Once you achieve a Domination victory, all other victory conditions go away. If you achieve a Cultural, Science or Diplo victory, you have won the game, but you can keep playing and later achieve a Domination victory (two victories in the same game).

No effect. As far as the game knows, restarting is starting from scratch.

If you are planning on submitting the game to HOF or GOTM, restarting is disqualifying.

Ok, just to get this clear once and for all. in G&K, when you choose legalism you get 4 free monuments. Its free as in construction and upkeep, right? And you only get them if you have the tech? So if i want 4 free musea, i need to discover archealogy, and then choose legalism?

Close, so close.

Yes, the culture buildings you get are free of construction costs and maintenance costs - truly free.

In G&K, it doesn't matter when you research the tech that unlocks the next cultural building for Legalism. If you take Legalism after you have already, e.g., built Monuments, Amphitheaters and Opera Houses in your 4 cities, but haven't researched Archaeology, taking Legalism does nothing at the moment you take it (i.e., it does not make your existing culture buildings maintenance-free). Instead, Legalism is sitting there (lurking, if you will), waiting for you to research Archaeology to unlock Museums. The moment you finish Archaeology, BAM! -- 4 free Museums appear in your 4 cities. (Actually, I wish there was a BAM! -- instead, they just quietly appear.)

Ok thanks, that is what i wanted to know. Cause i was fiddling around at how i could let the next policy and the completion of archeology fall together/close to eachother, but if it doesnt matter its alright.

new question: how many natural wonders are there for every map size? (and is there a way to see how many you still have to discover)

From CIV5Worlds.xml:

Duel = 2
Tiny = 3
Small = 3
Standard = 4
Large = 6
Huge = 7

When you discover a NW, the notification tells you how many undiscovered NWs are left. Not aware of any way to check it if you weren't paying attention (or have forgotten).

Are you sure about those numbers? cause im playing a MP match on a small map, and a few city-states have the quest to discover a natural wonder (although most of the map is uncovered). We have found Sinai, sri pada and two great barrier reefs untill now; so thats 4, with at least 1 yet to discover

Those numbers are right out of the xml - <NumNaturalWonders>. Can poke around to see if there are other modifiers in other files, but not today (gotta work IRL).

Pretty sure GBR counts as an extra NW.

I'm almost positive it's 6 natural wonders on a standard map; there's probably some kind of modifier applied elsewhere. The easy/obvious way to check how many you have left to discover is check "Happiness from natural wonders" when you mouse over the happiness and subtract that from the max wonders for the map type.

If you have discovered at least one Natural Wonder, you can check the Log (F7), look for the last message about discovering a Natural Wonder, and it will show how many are left to discover.

Before declaring a war to AI, you can always take their money by trading something ( which last 90 turns ) for their instant gold. And they always accept, is there any mod in which they are more aggresive and non-diplomatic ...
